My son has worn this brand for over 12 years. Price is good for the number of years the boot lasts. After 4 pairs, the quality is consistent and boot can be resoled.

I love my Asolo boots. I have 100% positive comments after wearing them for a month. The first day they were very comfortable and then last week I joined several others on a mountain trek. I did not slip or lose contact with where I put my foot one single time. I plan to wear on a 18 day Himalaya Trek in two months. I have complete confidence they are the boot for me.

I'm sold - In the past, I've been a devotee of Vasque, then of Skarpa, but decided to give this boot a try based on the reviews. I'm a firm lover of traditional, heavy strong hiking boots, and I really like these boots. The only comment I would make is that the ankle support seems a bit strong; I'm accustomed to more "rock" in the ankle than these give me. I'll probably end up lacing these upside down to get a bit more wiggle room in the ankle. Finally, I've got to say something about Zappos. I ordered this boot last night at 10 PM, and got it today at 1:00 PM, with free shipping. How they do it, I don't know, but I hope they never stop! As someone with wide feet, I've spent years suffering from not being able to find shoes. Now I shop nowhere but Zappos.

I bought these boots for my husband, he owns two other pairs of the Asolo TPS 520, but wanted another pair for work. He has hip problems and these boots are not only comfortable for him to wear all day working, they make a huge difference in his back and hip health. I have the same pair for hiking and this was my second pair. I just hope they continue to make this boot. They are amazingly comfortable and fit well. They last for years even with hard wear.

I have a wide and flat foot. This boot fits nicely. Zappos makes the search for boots and shoes thanks to an easy return policy. I tried sizes at home. I chose the middle-of-the-range fit with a thinner sock than usual (for ease of travel packing). I would prefer a little more space just above the ankle but the foot bed fits great and does not irritate my flat feet. The soles, to date, seem a little slick but the only use so far was on slippery seaside rocks, perhaps negating that assessment.

Since its inception in 1975, Asolo has gained an important worldwide leadership position in producing technical mountaineering shoes. The product range covers footwear from the most technical alpine demands to the more relaxed leisure activities line, permitting Asolo to be one of the few companies in the world to completely cover the outdoor area. More importantly, their footwear has conquered the most important mountains in the world with sponsored athletes JC Lafaille and Tomaz Humar.

Asolo’s goal is to create great footwear for all of your outdoor needs, in all conditions, at all altitudes: from light walking to hiking, from backpacking to the most treacherous climbing - whether it be on ice or mixed terrain. The footwear is designed around the foot; flexible, lightweight, and at the same time, highly resistant. Fit and performance are major strengths for this design. The breathable footwear is able to shock-absorb even on the toughest terrains, while keeping away humidity, water, and cold weather. The highly researched soles are constructed in such a way that they will prevent slips and falls on the most slippery of terrains.

Awesome boot. I have worn them almost every day for 3 years for ranch work, hiking, casual wear, working buffalo, etc. Tough, good looking, comfy, come in wide, still waterproof. I just broke a chunk out of the sole from the foot peg on an ATV, so will be getting them resoled soon, and I will miss them while they are gone. I am thinking of getting another pair to keep nice. My wife got a pair too and loves them. Can't say enough good things about them.

Hiker - Comfort right out of the box. This is the third boot in wide fit I tried and it fits the best. It’s a very good looking boot and the traction is a little more aggressive than the picture shows. Zappos is awesome love there shipping and the crew there.

Winter, Spring, Summer of Fall - From day one, These boots are like wearing a Comfy pair of Slippers. I bought one pair the day before a long weekend Mountain climbing trip, with no break-in period. I suffered not one Blister!!!! I like these boots so much I wear them to work every day!!! I get two years usage out of Every pair I have owned! (Remember... I wear them 5 to 7 days a week.) I have owned 6 Pair over the Years, and, as long as ASOLO makes them I'll keep buying them!

Wear the best, don't mess with the rest - I have been wearing the Asolo TPS 520 model for boot eight years. In which time I have had three pair of boots. I wear them almost every day. They keep my feet dry, and comfortable, this the only boot that I have bought and been able to take out of the box, on the feet and to the trail, and not have a problem with foot injuries. I do recommend this boot to everyone.

Had been a Vasque Sundowner GTX fan for decades. Ordered these based on reviews and they blow away the Sundowner. I love Zappos. I have Size 13 and need to wear full length orthotic arch supports for severe flat feet. I ordered 8 pair of boots and found these to be the most comfortable.

Outstanding - This is a fantastic boot! These are my second pair of TPS 520's, they handle everything I can throw at them. From the wet and snowy winters here in West Virginia to the concrete and steel of the warehouse where I work, to the hiking of the summer months. A truly outstanding boot!

My favorite boots - I'm 49 years old, 5'11", 185 lbs. These are the best boots I've ever owned. Bought them over a year ago after reading all the excellent reviews and trying many high end boots. My heels are prone to slip in most hiking boots, but the 520s fit the best. Trained for months with 65 lb pack for a demanding Smoky Mountain trip (carried 50 lbs). These boots took it all and asked for more. I loved my Vasque Sundowners (the old Italian version), but overall the 520s are better, although a bit heavier. Next time I see them on sale, I'm going to buy another pair. Also, based on some reviews, I'm going to try the Superfeet Greens for some more arch support. Also, I'm addicted to Gore-Tex (sorry Ray Jardine).

Awesome Boots - Don't even think about Vasques. These blow them away. I wear them every day for ranch/general work. They are comfy and tough and fit well. I replaced the original footbed with Superfeet, and they are great.

Awesome Boots! Tried many boots and walked many miles until I found the 520s. Just got back from Kilimanjaro where I put many miles on these in rain, snow, and sleet... no blisters or hot spots. I used just wool socks and no liners, the boots kept my feet dry, warm, and happy. The only upgrade was Superfeet green inserts which really made these great boots even better for me.

Great Boot - I am happy with this purchase. The break in period is short. The boots are comfortable, supportive, and attractive. I have no regrets. This was my first experience with Zappos. Delivery time was fast. I will be a repeat customer.

My first hikes with new boots - I truly like my new boots. They are very, very comfortable and substantial. I have been on two winter hikes - one involving very wet snow and streams and they held up very well. Most important though is support and comfort. I've had a small strain in one foot for several months and hoped these new boots would help and so far they have. The look of them is a little too classy for me, but I plan to use them a lot, scuff them up, and feel they better reflect who I am.

Wow! First off, these guy's get your boot to you quick! . . Have ordered from other companies, and Zappos is the Fastest shipping! ... What I wanted to write was this boot does not come a size bigger than marked, as some have stated in past reviews. It is Very true to size . . . Believe me, I was worried when ordering also. I wear a (11 1/2) wide in all other boots, as I have many! The Euro (46-1/2) , which is U.S (12) fits great with just enough toe wiggle room, and great fit all over . . . These boots are more impressive in person than online photo. I own Scarpa, Carolina, Georgia, Danner, & Timby's . . . These (520's) are the most comfortable. But make sure you get the wides, as they are not that much wider than stock, as this would be needed if you are contemplating the wides . . . Love these boots, so far!

Eric S. Clinton, NY - Nice leather, quality workmanship, good support. This boot requires very little break in. It has a nice stride to it. It is a supportive and firm shoe, but it flexes just the right amount to allow a normal unclunky walk. The sole grips well and has good shock absorption. The weight is about what one would expect for an all leather boot. The Gore-tex liner does retain moisture for those of us with sweat issues. The non Goretex TPS 535 were about the same with this issue. Wear moisture wicking socks. I need to wear orthotics or supportive insoles such as those made by Redwing Shoe Company. These boots are easily adaptable for this. I can even wear them for short periods without additional support. I haven't tested the waterproofness of these boots yet. They have been used for a few short hikes and around the house/ casual wear. I have been able to stand and do activities in them which, when wearing other shoes, sometimes has resulted in leg cramps or Sciatica flareups, due to poorer fit and support. These boots, and the several other ones I mention further along, are highly recommended. I have also had good luck with Vasque Clarion, LL Bean Cresta Hikers, and Lowa Banf. I also recommend Zappos as a great company to work with. Service is fast and reliable.

Great Boot takes lots of abuse - I had a problem with my feet and consequently tried many different types of hiking, backpacking boots before trying the Asolo boot. I just purchased my second pair. The length of wear amortizes the cost of the boot which is a bit spendy for me. I have worn the soles so thin that the soles are separating from the uppers and my feet are still dry in a wet snow. I put on the new pair and without a break-in period, they are as comfortable as the old pair. Down the trail I go with a ho, ho, ho, my feet say Merry Christmas!
