Great boot but not the best for everyday wear. I bought these boots because I work in Afghanistan and walk on very rough and unstable terrain all day. These boots are awesome for giving you comfort, support and spectacular stability under those kinds of circumstances. I think can think of at least 5 occasions since I bought these boots that I stepped on something and subsequently almost rolled my ankle. Had I not been wearing these I probably would've had an injury. So if you're looking for a really comfortable hiking boot that needs no breaking in and gives you amazing grip and stability, then these are a sure bet. Now for the downside. They are hiking boots, after all, and probably were not designed to be worn every day. That said I'm a bit disappointed considering the price that these boots only lasted me about 5 months before the tread started wearing thin. I really hoped I'd get a least a year out of them for the price. Alas, the tread has worn down so much that in recent weeks I can tell a difference in the "grip-iness" that has almost caused me an ankle injury on several occasions. So I had to go back to square one with a new boot. This time I went with Merrill, waiting to see how they do. If you're not planning to wear these every day I would still strongly consider these boots. You should still be able to get a year and a half out of them if you hike every weekend, longer if you hike less often. Hopefully next time Asolo redesigns these boots they'll find a way to make the soles & tread last longer.

I was thrilled with these boots....at first. I work in Afghanistan and have to walk daily on very very rough terrain. I needed a boot with a rugged sole that could give me the grip I needed on the sole and the support I needed around the ankle, while still being breathable for the hot Summer temps here. At the time I bought these there were no reviews on Zappos, so I did my research on other sites. When I first got them they were perfect, did everything I needed them to do. However, only a few months of wear and these boots had to go in the trash, as the sole was already coming loose around the toe of the right boot, and the grip on the bottom of both boots was worn down so much so quickly that I began slipping when I walked and nearly hurt myself. If you buy these for hiking purpose and not daily wear, they would probably last you a couple of years. I needed them for daily wear, however, and the price tag was way too high for the length of wear I got out of them. Even realizing I was subjecting them to an exceptional amount of abuse, they really should've lasted longer (more than 4 months) for the money.

These are the best hikers that I ever had! I do not get any wet feet, blisters and after 10 hours it felt like I had had a foot massage. I do a lot of hiking on the Appalachian Trail in the rocks of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

These are the most comfortable hikers I have ever had. Used them on 2 5 day hikes with no blisters or foot pain. Would have preferred a darker color, but the price was right!
