This boot fits true to size, 100% waterproof, good for summer and limited winter outings. Only real drawback is the durability of the sole. Sole wears very fast; for the price it should have a Vibram sole!

I've been looking for a lighter pair of hiking boots for some time now, and these Asolo Fugitives have turned out to be the perfect choice. I've been wearing a pair of Lowa Alpine Guide boots that are just a tad too tight in the toe, and heavy for casual day hikes in the local forest. The boot has plenty of quality features that Asolo is known for, and the attention to detail is spot on. The outsole is quite rigid and adds a lot of stability on uneven terrain. Because the outsole is so rigid, you should take the time to break the boots in before a long hike, especially in the hills. From this point forward, Asolo is my boot of choice for the great outdoors.

They\'re a bit ugly, but they are also the best boots I\'ve ever owned. I\'ve had my current pair for 3 years and they\'re still going strong after hiking about 200 miles with them. They breathe fairly well for being waterproof, and they\'ve never failed to get a solid foothold on any terrain.

These are hands down the best boots I have ever owned! I just got back from a five day backpacking trip in the Adirondacks and could not be happier. My feet feel like they could do another five days no problem. The boots were new to me two weeks before the trip and I only wore them around the city for maybe five or six days and they felt broken in already. I have very sensitive feet and always get blisters when hiking running or playing sports. With these boots I have not gotten a single blister; amazing! The boots had great traction on hard pack, slick rock, and wet conditions. The waterproofing seemed to hold up fine in stream crossing and pretty heavy rain. They feel true to size with excellent support where you need it. The only negative would be the insoles which are not much more than a cardboard insert. Replace these and you are all set.

These boots are great. I received them, wore them a total of about 2 hours in the house, just to make sure they felt OK, then took them to Alaska where I wore them for 10 days straight in constant rain, hiking through creeks, rocky trails, and also in town. Totally waterproof, at least up a couple of inches, light, and very good traction. I have a wide foot/high arch, so many boots do not fit (squeeze toes). These are good for me, even on downhills.

The product range covers footwear from the most technical alpine demands to the more relaxed leisure activities line, permitting Asolo to be one of the few companies in the world to completely cover the outdoor area. More importantly, their footwear has conquered the most important mountains in the world with sponsored athletes JC Lafaille and Tomaz Humar.

I bought these to replace my worn out Vasque boots. I was blown away at how comfortable these were, like casual shoes. I bought 12 wide and they fit very good except the heel is a little loose. I'm used to needing to break boots in so I hope this isn't a problem down the road. Excellent style and look. Zappos is more expensive than every other site I went to. I was disappointed by this, but I kept the boot because I had already worn them to work in.

This is a really sturdy shoe, well made and fairly comfortable although somewhat stiff. The main drawback is that the soles are EXTREMELY SLIPPERY on wet rocks and wet roots. I\'ve almost fallen everytime there is any moisture on smooth surfaces but they are great on all other surfacees and are nicely waterproofed.

These really are great. I'm finally throwing out my old pair and starting on the new. I've had these boots for nearly five years and worn them almost every day. 18 months in Iraq, then back to the US. They have stood up in the creeks, on hot asphalt, and in the snow. I'm always afraid they will change what I like, so I'll probably buy another pair and hide them in the closet.

These are the best boots I've ever owned. The support and comfort make them the only shoe I own (and I have many) that I can wear all day long day in and day out, and still have energy in my feet. If the Asolo last fits your foot, you will not go wrong with this boot. I've worn Vasque, Technica, Lowa, Ecco, Timberland, and more. Asolo IS THE BEST!

This is my third pair of Asolo boots. The narrow width of the Asolo, is the only boot that fits my foot well. Previous to this boot, I have owned the TPS 535. I thought I would try out something a little different, and with gore-tex. I owned this boot for 18 months before it became unwearable. From the beginning this was the most comfortable boot I have had, lighter, and a faster break-in time than the all-leather boots I usually get. There are a few issues I have with this boot. First, the sole is not a Vibram sole, and it wore out much faster than any boot I have had. After 18 months it is smooth, almost all tread is gone. In addition, it’s soft enough to allow holes from nails to let water in. The Suede leather on this boot does not come waterproofed. It needs a heavy coat, I discovered this winter camping when they were soaked for 4 days. I was not impressed with the gore-tex, and in my opinion, it was not superior to a good coat of sealant on a regular boot, it did eventually start leaking. The toe rand separated from the nearby suede, letting water in. The boot generally wore out along all the seams, becoming cracked and separating, in addition, the rand became cracked. In the end, I would say this is a comfortable boot, but don’t expect it to last for 5 years like my TPS 535s did, with plenty of sole left. I will not buy them again, unless the style changed a bit, I don’t trust them. Bottom line, I just purchased a pair of TPS 535s and I look forward to the break in process.

Very comfortable boot. This is my 5th pair of Asolo boots and this may be my favorite next to the now discontinued TPS Highland. It's very well made and I really like the capped nylon toe of the front of the boot, which really prevents scuffs and water penetration.

Great Boots - A couple of co-workers turned me on to these boots and let me say...these boots are the best boots I have ever owned! Well worth the money. Over the last twenty years with careers in the military, security contracting and law enforcement I have come across and owned a lot of boots. These are by far the most comfortable and are pretty darn cool looking too. I have the Tundra color and am always getting compliments when I wear these. Be advised if you have a wide foot these are not for you. I have narrow feet so they fit perfect. Hoping these last a loooong time, but looking forward to buying more Asolo boots.

Asolo, great buy - These boots may look a little colorful online, but they are truly great classy boots. They break in easily, and are tough as nails. Have held up to the worst New England has to offer with flying colors for the past 2 years, and are still in great shape.

Great boot - I bought the fugitive to replace my Danner 453s which I had 2 years or so. This boot fit a little narrow at first, but within an hour or two, shaped to my foot quite nicely. I love the feel of this boot. Holds my foot in place through the roughest terrain. With the Danner's, the toe box is a little wide so you can fit thicker socks and still not be cramped. In the summer mine felt a tad sloppy on my feet. Highly recommend the fugitive, but if you want to spend a little less money, go with the 453s.

Great boot, but not for wide feet - I have a wide foot. These boots feel great upon putting them on, however after a short time walking around I realized the narrow width (yes, on the wide size) is too detrimental for holding onto these as a serious boot investment. I have to send mine back.

Asolo Fugitive GTX - Great fit right out of the box. Comfort was very good, until after 5 or 6 hours of hiking. Then they got a little hard. Has great grip and is water resistant.

Very Happy With These Boots - I had never been on a real hike before a couple of weeks ago, so I had never owned quality hiking boots. I bought these because they felt the best when I tried them on in a local store. I hiked the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma for three days after breaking these in for 6 days, and did not have a single problem with my feet. The hike was a combination of dirt and pebble trails, boulders, climbing, etc., and the boots stayed comfortable. If I had to list one thing that could be improved, I might ask for a little more cushioning in the sole.

Good foot - Bad foot - I just recently purchased this boot and have been trying to break them in. The right boot fits like a million dollars, the left boot hurts my instep under the hooks and laces. After about 20 miles, different weight socks, foot liners and heal inserts I'm still trying to figure out how to get very far from home with this boot. The arch support is great, the soles are a little stiff yet.

Great boot - I love my pair, but the one complaint I have is that Asolo seems to run very narrow. Unless you have very skinny feet, I would recommend wide by default for comfort.

Looked around a long time before deciding on this one - I looked long and hard in trying to find a waterproof hiking boot. My feet are wide so I am somewhat limited in selection at local stores. I bought some Vasque Summit GTX shoes last year and, even though I bought them in wide, I ended up with corns on both my pinkie toes. So, I was back in the stores and internet sites again looking this year. The Fugitives (wide version) are quite comfortable out of the box and seem to be well put together. However, I find them to be smaller than what I am used to -- I tried them on with thick socks and had to go up a half size. My only complaint is that I think they could be a bit better looking. The only color I could get in my size (and wide) was the "wool" color, which has a butt ugly red stripe down the back that make the boots look like bowling shoes. However, all things being equal, I'd rather have a boot that fits well and is ugly than one that looks nice (like the Summits) and gives me corns.
