Asolo´s goal is to create great footwear for all of your outdoor needs, in all conditions, at all altitudes: from light walking to hiking, from backpacking to the most treacherous climbing - whether it be on ice or mixed terrain. The footwear is designed around the foot; flexible, lightweight, and at the same time, highly resistant. Fit and performance are major strengths for this design. The breathable footwear is able to shock-absorb even on the toughest terrains, while keeping away humidity, water, and cold weather. The highly researched soles are constructed in such a way that they will prevent slips and falls on the most slippery of terrains.
Since the beginning, Asolo is connected with experiences and people who live for the mountain. Together with the brand, they test boots that have been developed for the alpine/mountaineering athletes and for all people who "live" the mountain with love and passion.

This book is built on a curved last, and despite the supposedly "wide" fit in the EE size, it curves in so sharply that my outer two toes get burned on a hike of any length. Moreover, the plastic heel counter does not break in, so I continue to get blisters despite tape. The ankles fit too tightly and caused pain on ankle bones. I made a device from PVC pipe and golf balls and laced them tightly around this for about two weeks. That stretched them enough to be tolerable in the ankles. Because of the heel blisters and tight toe space, they aren’t usable for hiking. Since they’ve been worn outside, I can’t return them, so they’re pretty much good only for gardening. I have Asolo 520s (a leather boot) that fit OK, in part because they break in. Conclusion: if you have a wide foot that is squarish in shape, these boots probably aren’t going to work well.

Not a boot for wet rock - I am sort of surprised that this boot gets such high marks. The sole is absolutely horrible on wet granite or limestone. Really, no one has had this experience? I've worn many boots and trail runners over 35 years of climbing and backpacking and the GTX soles are some of the worst. Here's a good shoe sole test: find some smooth or painted concrete (like your porch), wet the concrete and shuffle along. Does the boot slip? Now think what it will do walking down a glacial polished granite slab. Enough said.

Excellent boot! One of the most comfortable boots I have worn and meets all of my expectations. Material and construction is quality and unlike the equivalent Merells the Asolo feels like it can take anything thrown at it. Highly recommend this boot!

I needed hiking boots. This brand was recommended by forest rangers. Boots were delivered rapidly and were excellent. Hiked all over Colorado mountains in them! Would buy again.
