These are great boots! I bought them just for hiking. After I started wearing them they were so comfortable that I decided to wear them to work as well. These are the best boots that I have ever owned. I would recommend them to anyone!

The Asolo Flame GTX (Gore-Tex lined) is the meeting of the lightweight boot with the most rugged trail boot. A balance between a lower weight with rugged durability. Incredibly stable with the interactive heel and a firm but flexible shank that will give support over the most difficult and uneven trail surface. It feels like a comfortable shoe but never fails to support and perform like a hiking boot. With over 300 hiking miles on my first pair of Flame GTX boots I can vouch for their high quality and excellent dependability.

Great boot. I have had the boots for one month now. Light, comfortable and great looking. They are holding up well and seem they will last a long time. I still like my Vasque boots, but Asolo are becoming my favorite.

I live in a small town that is completely ice and snow covered. Consequently, I wear these boots every day. I can't get over how much the boots are helping my previously injured knees. I have worn Merrells for years, and I can't believe the difference.

About Asolo
Asolo´s goal is to create great footwear for all of your outdoor needs, in all conditions, at all altitudes: from light walking to hiking, from backpacking to the most treacherous climbing - whether it be on ice or mixed terrain. The footwear is designed around the foot; flexible, lightweight, and at the same time, highly resistant. Fit and performance are major strengths for this design. The breathable footwear is able to shock-absorb even on the toughest terrains, while keeping away humidity, water, and cold weather. The highly researched soles are constructed in such a way that they will prevent slips and falls on the most slippery of terrains.
Since the beginning, Asolo is connected with experiences and people who live for the mountain. Together with the brand, they test boots that have been developed for the alpine/mountaineering athletes and for all people who "live" the mountain with love and passion.

This is a very lightweight and comfortable boot. The fit around the ankle is great and the support it provides is second to none. I thought it runs a 1/2 size on the small side. I have a bunion on my left foot and this boot does not hurt it when walking!

I would like to start out by saying I had my feet professionally measured at a running store before I ordered the Asolo Flame GTX. Many people think they know their size, but have never actually been professionally measured. I highly recommend doing this especially if you are a woman like me - planning on buying a man's size. I am a 9 D (medium/standard). This is what I ordered and I ended up having to return the boots. The Asolo Flame was too narrow in the toe box area and the hard rigid black toe cap offers no give. My toes were squished together and rubbed badly against the hard toe cap - especially the 5th digit. After doing some research and calling Asolo's American headquarters, they informed me the boots do run narrow because they are based on a European style. I returned the boots and ended up trying an EE wide 9. They fit perfectly! The boots are light weight and the waterproof Gore-Tex works well. Although Gore-Tex is breathable your feet will still get hot! I have discovered they get very hot in the summer but if you wear a light liner sock it helps a lot with the moisture! I have used these for both short (3-6 mile) and long (11+ mile) day hikes because I prefer ankle support over trail shoes. I have also used the Asolo Flame for backpacking trips. I will mention that the shoes offered good support and performed well, however, when my pack weight gets 40+lbs I put in Green Superfeet insoles and the boots are fantastic. The Flame was very comfortable out of the box. My break in time was two half day hikes - no blisters, one hot spot at the top collar/tongue junction. These boots are durable and I've used them extensively for 4 months hiking and backpacking all over the ANF. They have a lot of miles on them and show no signs of separation between the sole and the upper. My friends joke that I buy a new pair every weekend we go out! I would highly recommend these boots!

I\'ve owned a pair of TPX boots for years and love them. I still get compliments on them looking new and all I do is Nikwax them once or twice a year. So when it came time to replace my Merrill summer boots I looked to Asolo and the Flame GTXs. Actually I bought a pair of Morans first but didn\'t love the fit. Zappos had the Flames in wide which I highly recommend if you need a little more room. I\'ve been breaking them in on morning walks and they\'re awesome. I hike a little but not a lot and these are mainly for an all around waterproof summer boot for fun and work. So far they\'re great. With a set of Superfeet insoles they\'re perfect.

As always, Asolo continues to exceed my expectations. With bone fragments in both ankles, break-in is quite a chore. These Asolo shoes were more comfortable in about half the time of my Columbias. Support is great, but without sacrificing the "feel" needed when trying to move quietly over sticks, rocks and such. I will buy them again.

I chose this boot for its reputation for effectiveness, durability, and its looks. Oh yeah, and I didn't want to pay more than $200 for a pair of boots. Unfortunately, I haven't yet had the opportunity to wear them for a hike, so I can only speak for their initial comfort and the apparent quality of construction. I've warn them around for daily tasks and they're both comfortable and supportive. They're also interesting to look at without being ridiculously flashy (dark brown style). I'm on the cusp between a US size 9.5 and 10. I went for the 10 for this shoe, and I find they're snug in both directions, while leaving me just enough room to avoid my toe touching the box when walking down slope. However, they make me wonder for the first time if I might need to be in a wide shoe rather than D-width. I'll update if I get blisters.

Very comfortable out of the box. Break in was two half day hikes (but no blisters on first hike). Foot is firmly held so that laces can be set less tightly. Arch support - excellent. And they are waterproof. Most comfortable hiking boots I've had, ever. Time will tell on the durability.

I originally ordered Keen Oregon PCT Hiker Boots. They really didn’t fit properly. I contacted Zappos and exchanged them for the Asolo Flame GTX. Zappos was a pleasure to work with. Returning the Keen's was a snap. The new boots were at my door the following day. Excellent customer service. The Asolo Flame GTX is a high quality boot and fits true to size. I wear just over an 11-1/2 and the size 12 fit perfectly. Wearing Smartwool Medium Hiker socks with a liner created the perfect fit. I've had several day hikes locally in preparation for my 5 day hike in the Utah Mountains in August. So far, I am very impressed with the boot and the break-in period has been short. I recommend the boots and Zappos. I will buy from them again.

Great boot! They are well worth the money. Do not buy cheap hiking boots. If you are buying the WIDES, you do not want to size up. I normally wear a 12.5 so I ordered a 13 wide and they were WAY TOO BIG. I had Zappos replace with a 12 wide and they are perfect. Thanks ZAPPOS!

The KING of hiking boots! These are the best boots you can buy for hiking! I have hiked every Mountain in the White Mountains as well as every mountain in Maine. Guess what I did it with ONE PAIR OF BOOTS! ASOLO! This is my third pair of Asolo boots in 16 years of hiking. I have put more ground under my feet in my Asolo boots than most people will in a life time. If you are looking for a boot that will support you and your pack, provide traction and last you years of hiking. BUY a pair of Asolo boots!

SUPERB SERVICE AND GREAT COMFORT! Wow, what great service at Zappos! I ordered the boots with standard shipping and was upgraded to overnight shipping just for being a customer. I ordered them at 6pm and got them at noon the next day! I was stunned and extremely pleased. The boots are great looking and very comfortable. They are a little stiff, but with some break in time they should soften a little. I plan to get back into backpacking in the future. I haven't gone in about 15 years. I will also go hiking with the flames on the trails in Tilden Park. The design of the boots is very nice and high quality. I like the toe protection that will prevent scuffing. Once again thanks to Zappos.com for A+ #1 service.

Asolo Flame GTX - I love the looks of the shoe. It is lightweight. Comfort is not there, but if you ad an insole with arch support it is just the extra that makes it comfortable enough for all day. I work outside and it goes through all types of terrain.

Great Hiking Boot - These boots are great for hiking on light trails and rocky trails. Great ankle support, warmth and comfort. A little stiff at first so break them in before a long hike.
