This is a great all leather oxford type cross trainer walking shoe if you need a lot of support. It holds up well, but I've worn the soles out on two pairs, so I've just bought a third pair. It's not really a hiking/climbing shoe, but I use it that way; on really steep stuff, the heel tends to pull out. Because its all leather, and stiff, it really holds up and is great for orthotics.

I love this shoe! I originally ordered it in the grey for light hiking, but when it arrived I decided to keep it for winter urban wear and find another for hiking. I wear a 7.5 street shoe, but the 7 fit perfectly, with no slippage in the heel. The shoe is stiff, but still very comfortable with plenty of room in the toe box for thicker socks. Ironically, it's sole is somewhat slippery in snow. It doesn't grip like Merrells or Asolo trail runners.

I can not give a very accurate review because Zappos shipped the wrong size. I did try them on and I liked the way they looked. I think even though the size shipped was one size larger than I ordered it seemed to run even bigger. If ordering again I would at least order a 1/2 size to a full size smaller than my normal size.

I love Asolo hiking boots but was a bit disappointed with these shoes. I have very wide feet (bunions) and these shoes were even wide for me. They seemed to be abnormally wide (almost loose) at the instep. However, the toe box of the shoe does fit correctly. They also ran a bit long for me. I was looking for an alternative to a tennis shoe, but this just didn't do it for me.

About Asolo
Asolo´s goal is to create great footwear for all of your outdoor needs, in all conditions, at all altitudes: from light walking to hiking, from backpacking to the most treacherous climbing - whether it be on ice or mixed terrain. The footwear is designed around the foot; flexible, lightweight, and at the same time, highly resistant. Fit and performance are major strengths for this design. The breathable footwear is able to shock-absorb even on the toughest terrains, while keeping away humidity, water, and cold weather. The highly researched soles are constructed in such a way that they will prevent slips and falls on the most slippery of terrains.
Since the beginning, Asolo is connected with experiences and people who live for the mountain. Together with the brand, they test boots that have been developed for the alpine/mountaineering athletes and for all people who "live" the mountain with love and passion.

Luke warm - The heel is high and makes rolling the ankle more likely. Don't bother with a back pack in these shoes and expect sore balls of the feet as there is no cushion in the shoe. The grippy sole is, as usual, great.
