I'm a professional dog walker in NYC, "any dog any weather", packs of dogs pulling me through through the rocky muddy trails of Central Park to pot holes full of slush is a challenge to any boot trust me. I'm on my feet hours on end and my shoes rarely make it past 6 months. This is a great boot with just one major flaw - these boots are warm. When laced up they keep that knee deep snow from creeping in from the ankle (hate that). They're super stable in snow/mud (I'd be sleighing face first if they weren't ). Nice rigid sole, good treads...yet cushioned. And they won't wear out. They're great on sidewalks as well. I have narrow feet/heels and I was glad that they fit snug...they felt pretty narrow in my opinion. So other reviews have me perplexed, but I have these boots benched for foul play. They're like a constant booby trap on your feet! Seriously flawed (or i should say floored) - the 2 top eyelet hooks will inevitably snatch your lace loops from the other foot. This happened to me multiple times. It's like a bad joke no matter how many MacGyver moves to prevent this it still happened until finally I permanently flattened the top 2 hooks with pliers. I no longer can lace them up to keep snow out...very stressful...unreliable! I get nervous just slipping my feet into them! Traumatized with complete anxiety. Asolo better fix the laces or the hooks for God's sake! Lent them to my friend - same problem. I work hard for my money and I spent quite a bit (with tax) to get tripped up at work, face flat on over crowded Broadway with five dogs looped to my wrist. Go for a different model...period.

Excellent boots! We spent 12 days waking through the Himalayas, and there were like 7 of us using Asolo boots for the first time, and we loved them. Perfect arch support, ankle support, comfort, waterproof, and no one got any blisters! For us these boots have 5 stars!

I have a narrow heal and wide toe box, Asolo boots are a great fit. I bought the Attiva specifically to have a medium weight pack boot and these fit my expectations perfectly. Break-in time is much less then an all leather boot. Very pleased! For heavy loads on rocky ground I recommend another great boot in the Asolo line the TPS 520 BV.

About Asolo
Asolo´s goal is to create great footwear for all of your outdoor needs, in all conditions, at all altitudes: from light walking to hiking, from backpacking to the most treacherous climbing - whether it be on ice or mixed terrain. The footwear is designed around the foot; flexible, lightweight, and at the same time, highly resistant. Fit and performance are major strengths for this design. The breathable footwear is able to shock-absorb even on the toughest terrains, while keeping away humidity, water, and cold weather. The highly researched soles are constructed in such a way that they will prevent slips and falls on the most slippery of terrains.
Since the beginning, Asolo is connected with experiences and people who live for the mountain. Together with the brand, they test boots that have been developed for the alpine/mountaineering athletes and for all people who "live" the mountain with love and passion.

I was thrilled to not have to pay shipping on my boots and they arrived in just a few days. I saved quite a bit buying them at Zappos rather than buying them in the store, and I even got the width I wanted! Thank you so much for the wonderful service and speedy shipment! A+ And I no longer suffer leg and foot pain after my daily hikes.

This boot rocks! I purchased half size up. Climb Mount Adams in Washington state. Kept feet warm and dry through the snow fields. Excellent comfort level with no hot spots over rocks. Heel base is snug enough with plenty of room in the toe area. I felt very secure up and down the Mountain. Next trek: Everest base camp. I'll get back to you November 2009 for shoe update. This will be the real test.

This will tell you a lot - these boots arrived complete with a satin carrying case. The leather is soft (yet not floppy and prone to sagging) and flawless. The embroidered panel running up the front is beautiful. The stitching and leatherwork is just impeccable. The X detail on the side does not look cheap like I had guessed, but really adds an interesting element to an already busy boot. The buckles around the ankle - while numerous - help to make a big foot appear smaller. I wear a size 11 and am very sensitive about how large some shoes make my feet appear, so my month-long hunt for a multi-buckle boot has really paid off. If only I could find them in black and a hundred dollars cheaper... but I'm going to keep them anyway.

Attiva GTX - Super comfortable right out of the box. No real break-in time for hiking and stays comfortable all day. Light but protective. Love this boot. The green is fabulous. Zappos rules.

I am really enjoying this hiking boot. Great ankle and arch support. My one compliant would be that I have a very narrow foot and my actual foot had too much room to move around in when in the shoe (not talking length wise, but actual volume wise), but a pair of Superfeet fixed that quickly and easily. Would definitely recommend this boot to any lady out there looking to get outdoors.

Asolo Attiva GTX - Caribbean Blue - I have really long narrow feet, and these were the best of all the Asolo boots I tried. I really need a size 11.5 narrow, but since none of the boot manufacturers make that length and width and my foot is too narrow for a man's boot, I'm forced to try to find a boot I can get by with. I tried at least 6 other Asolo boots and several other boots of various brands. This was the only boot that was long enough that my toes don't slam the front going downhill and I was able to cinch them tight enough with heavy weight trekking socks that they were narrow enough. My first trip out with them was a 35 mile backpacking trip in Yosemite over Labor Day weekend. They worked out great! They are very stiff heavy duty boots. I love the Vibram soles and the Asobrake. They grip really well. I'd definitely recommend them.

My feet are long and narrow. Difficult to fit. I hike a variety of terrain, but mostly very long distances in challenging terrain (rocky and steep) with on average 35 pounds in backpack. Obviously comfort, stability, grip, durability are critical. Out of the box, they look great and felt comfy. However, after wearing them around the house for a week, with hiking socks of various thicknesses, I discovered heel slippage, rubbing around ankles, and various hot spots. Could not wait to get out of them. Maybe the Supergreen insoles would have helped, but I did not even bother with them. Too bad, these look great on. Wish there was a great extra heavy duty backpacking boot that looked cute on the foot. Still looking for a heavy duty boot, latest one that seems to work is the Asolo power max 200, but I am still testing 3 others.

Never have I purchased a pair of hiking boots that actually became less comfortable as I broke them in. I understand that they are meant to be light weight, but the manufacturers sacrificed too much cushioning to make a lighter boot. I began to feel every seam within the toebox and these points continuously wore my foot. It was not a matter of the boots being too narrow. They felt true to size in all respects, and fit very well. They just did not provide the comfort I was hoping for in a day-hiking boot.
