I just bought this shoe for the second time for my very active 7 year old daughter. The first pair were fantastically durable and suitable for all of her everyday sports activities (basketball, soccer, skateboarding, scooters etc.). She wears them every day and they didn't require any breaking in. I don't know if it is recommended, but I throw them in the washer with no problems.

We just love these shoes! I will never buy a white or light colored tennis shoe again for my kids(or self)! The gray doesn't show dirt! These are wonderful. My 8 year old daughter loves these shoes and wears them every day to school. I like to only buy Asics for my kids because they last all school year. I usually go up 1/2 a size and that lasts my kids all year. I can wash (in the washing machine) and air dry Asics and they hold up great. But I haven't had to wash these yet and we have been in school 6 weeks so far. I'm loving the gray! And with the blue and yellow accents on the shoe,you can dress up the look for a girl - with same colored shirts and hair ribbons. I bet we will buy the same shoe next year.

Great shoe for my 9 year old. She had a pair of ASICS last year and insisted on another pair for school this year. She has a bit of a narrow heel, and this shoe is one that does not slip on her. Also, I refuse to buy white shoes for my kids. This can be a challenge, but I always find what I am looking for on Zappos.

I bought these for my daughter in September and within a month the bottom tread started to tear off, we glued them but they aren't holding...disappointed.
