- DuraSponge® forefoot outsole material is comprised of a blown AHAR® (ASICS High Abrasion Rubber) for superior cushioning and long-lasting wear.

I have been battling plantar faciitis for about 9 months. Wearing a night splint and taking anit inflamatories. I wear gel heel cups with arch suposrts in my work shoes which helped a lot. I have been throug several sets of running shoes trying to find the right one that would help either with or without inserts and was very frustrated. Finally I read a review of these on runner's world and forked over the big bucks. When I tried them on and felt the arch support I knew these were what I needed. After having them for about a week, my foot, knee, shin and ankle pain from running is gone. I ran 3 miles in these yesterday and feel great this morning. I an a big guy, 6' 225lbs and these shoes offer the cushioning and support I needed.

I have owned at least 10 pairs of the Nimbus line and have previously been a raving fan. The Nimbus 14 is unwearable - after the 10th wear (I gave it a fair trial), I had to take my shoes off in the middle of the day and have sworn to never wear them again. The size is the same as all the other Nimbus shoes I have worn, but my feet just hurt after wearing them for several hours. I'm a surgeon and the day of the final wear was one that I was sitting down much of the day. I don't know what happened to the 14 design, but I have 3 pairs of old Nimbus 12's that I wear very comfortably. I will need to switch to another brand for my next pair shoes. Very sad.

Awesome shoe! I like it more than the 13 model. It has more cushion throughout but doesn't feel bulky. It feels lighter than the 13. I am a long time Nimbus user and heavy runner (6'3 240lbs). I put green superfeet in them and they always fit well and work well with the shoe. I would use no other running shoe. They are not good for weight lifting or cross training though and I switched to a pair of Inov-8s for that. The heel is higher and has awesome cushioning but its like lifting on a marshmallows. Light weights are fine. I save these for cardio and long walks. They breath well and have served me well over this hot summer.

My son loves this shoe and finding a shoe that fits his narrow size 16 foot is very annoying but he loved this shoe so much because it molded to his foot and he says it is like walking on clouds. I just hope for my wallets sake that his feet stop growing because cheap good-looking shoes are harder to find the bigger the size.

Been a Gel Nimbus fan for years. Definitely feel the lighter weight in this model, which gives a feeling of a more minimalist shoe without losing the needed cushion for concrete/asphalt. Feels so light! I use my orthotics in these for overpronation, no problem.
I'd also recommend: Brooks
