- Successor to the GEL-Kinsei 3 (no longer available).
- Breathable, lightweight mesh upper.
- Durable synthetic leather overlays.
- Biomorphic Fit® is created with a stretch material that is strategically placed throughout the upper to reduce buckling and provide an exceptional fit and feel.
- Heel Clutching System™ is made up of an exoskeletal heel counter that promotes an improved fit and increased support.
- Reflective elements boost visibility in low-light conditions.
- PHF® (Personalized Heel Fit) creates a custom fit as the two layers of memory foam that line the collar mold to your heel.
- Cuprothermo metallic film retains heat in cold conditions and releases heat in warm conditions.
- ComforDry™ sockliner offers antimicrobial properties for a drier, healthier environment.
- Rearfoot and forefoot Gel® cushioning systems work together to better attenuate impacting shock and allow the foot to move fluidly throughout the gait cycle.

- I.G.S® (Impact Guidance System) is an ASICS design philosophy that employs linked componentry to enhance the foot's natural gait from heel strike through toe-off.
- Discrete Heel Unit technology enhances the I.G.S system by creating the ultimate in shock attenuation and stability.
- Propulsion Trusstic® mimics connective tissues in the foot by creating tension as the foot enters the propulsion phase.
- Guidance Line® technology employs a vertical flex groove that decouples the tooling along the line of progression for maximum stride efficiency.
- AHAR® (ASICS High Abrasion Rubber) is known for its supreme durability and is strategically placed throughout high-wear areas of the outsole.
- DuraSponge® forefoot outsole material is comprised of a blown AHAR® rubber for superior cushioning and long-lasting wear.

I just received today and went on a short run to test them out. Absolutely phenomenal. Excellent comfort for my soles for each and every step I took. Comfortable grip around my whole foot. Just a great shoe in general. It may be a little price being a little much, but worth every penny. If this shoe were to come on special, it should be at the top of the priority list.

Love the looks, I run 30+ miles per week and the support in the heel is not durable. The gel is very exposed and can be very very easily damaged. Great for looks only not long term - my gel is already breaking down - 8 months in.

I've had like 5 pairs of Asics the last 2 being Kinsei 4's. I'm 6'3 240 size 13 I was heavier. Strictly a treadmill runner now. The first pair of worn K-4's I wear for walking to gym. This second pair of 4's I run in now. I put them on when I get inside to run and then off after. Good shoes for my big frame rumblin' along for 25 minutes. They are very comfortable and hang right with me without a problem. I've had so many different running shoes and the last 5 years stuck with Asics. There is only one problem for me with the Kinsei 4's. That is before there time is up, I would say in the 3 to 4th month. The side nylon seam, just back from the little toe starts to tear, doesn't stop the use. For the price no way should they rip there midway through their full use. Not even if it was road work running, this is strictly a treadmill. Otherwise they're great, but tearing on the side should happen when their dust.

I've been running in Asics shoes for many years. This pair arrived two days ago, put them on my feet yesterday and they felt so good I did 8 miles. They are the best shoe I've ever felt out of the box, better than the previous Asics I've worn. Is the price high compared to most running shoes? Yes, but for my old knees and feet the price is worth it! A well made running shoe.
I'd also recommend: none

I run 6 to 7 miles a day, usually in the morning. I wanted something that made me visible and could take the pounding of the asphalt. These shoes take care of both my needs. They are true to size and give me the lift in the heel I require. A bit pricy but worth the price.
