I'm 6'3" and 315 pounds. I need a good supportive shoe for cardio workouts and fitness exercises. I wanted something supportive, yet lighter weight than the Brooks Beast. This Asics Gel is perfect! It gives me a lighter weight shoe with excellent support. The color is not flashy, but goes very well with my gray and blue workout gear. I wear them only at the gym. So far, they have been a real winner!
I'd also recommend: Brooks Beast

I had been running in a 6 year old pair of Brooks Beast (only jogging in them since Nov. 12). I am a big guy 6'1" 335 when I started; down to 285 now with overpronation problems and a history of plantar fascitis. My Brooks were starting to wear down from putting a heavy load on them for 18+ miles a week, so I decided to try Asics since I had heard good things. Hated them. First jog was uncomfortable; decided I needed to break them in. Has gotten worse with every jog. Shin splints, knee pain, and back pain that I have not experienced with my Beasts are back (reasons why I haven't jogged in so long). Even tried gel insoles- nothing. Thank goodness for Zappos customer service. More than happy to help me out. My new pair of Brooks are on the way. Save your time and pain, go with the Beast. Big guys, you won't be disappointed. And again, thank you to Zappos for your unbeatable customer service.

I need a size 16EEEEE because of my toes. Long walks or running have my toes screaming with pain if i wear a smaller size. I thought size 16EEEE would suffice. No way. I love the shoe but the heel seems to wear out sooner than the rest of the shoe. I have several running shoes with heels completely worn out. Any suggestions?

Very disappointed in this shoe. I wear 15 2E box marked correctly. I could barely get my foot in the shoe. I had to use shoe horn, once in my toes touched the front of the shoe. The width was very tight and narrow. They fit my son perfectly, he wears a 15 D.
I'd also recommend: New Balance or Brooks, they have always been true to size
