They dropped the heel in the Cumulus 14 and made the show narrower compared with past years' models so it feels like a completely different shoe. For those upgrading from the Cumulus 12 or 13, this will feel like a complete departure, shop for a different shoe

I have been using the Gel Cumulus series for years and loved them. This one does not live up to the earlier shoes. I wear a 4E and always loved how the shoe fit. This new one feels too narrow. I originally thought they shipped the wrong size. The heel feels funny as it is elevated and the new design gave me plantar fasciitis (a problem I had before I found the Gel Cumulus). I had to go back to my old pair. After a week the pain was gone right away. Now I have to find another shoe :( Please go back to the old design.

Completely different feel from the rest of the Cumulus series. Before I even put the shoe on I could tell there were drastic differences from the previous Cumulus shoes. For someone who underpronates with a high arch, there's no arch support and way too much cushion for the outside of the foot. I used to be able to put on a new pair of Cumulus shoes feeling as if I'd worn them for a month. With the Cumulus 14s, I feel like I'll never adjust to them. Very disappointed in the changes.

I have been a Cumulus wearer since version VII, several years worth now and the upgrades have typically been positive things which enhanced my experience while maintaining the basic Gel Cumulus design (which worked well for high arch, underpronator). Not these, however. Some significant changes have been made unfortunately, such as a substantial reduction in the density or thickness of the cushion layer in my opinion, leaving me to search the remaining sneakers in the Asics line for an acceptable substitute.

Caution: This shoe fits differently than previous editions of the Gel-Cumulus. Apparently ASICS has redesigned this shoe with a lower profile, which completely ruins the excellent supportive fit I once enjoyed from the Gel-Cumulus line. The shoe is too short around the heel and ankles and I can no longer wear my orhotic supports with this shoe. Even without the orthotics, these shoes feel like the are about to come off- like I'm going to run out of them- much like a pair of slippers. Very disappointing. Bring back the original Gel-Cumulus!
