Very comfortable and stylish. I'm not a cowboy, but wanted something that was not an athletic shoe and casual. I usually wear 12 in most tennis shoes but like most boots went with a size smaller and fits prefect. Love them. My second pair of Ariats this year, also have a pair of the brown ones, that I got locally and paid a heck of a lot more!

These boots are very attractive. The cushioned bottom is comfortable to walk on. I read other reviews which all said to buy a full size smaller so I took a chance and order 1\/2 size small and they are very tight in width around the toes. Overall a good casual country looking boot.

These boots are comfortable enough to wear all day without even thinking about them. They were initially tight over the tops of my feet, but loosened up to a nice snug fit, with the heels being slightly loose but not rubbing at all. Also, the shafts are actually a decent width to account for my shins. The boot has some nice subtle stitching, and the leather is not shiny at all. If I have one complaint, though, it's that the sole extends out a good quarter inch past the toe and is really square. I'm still not sure if I like this look, but I do like the comfort.

Ordered these for my husband, and he loves them! They are a bit wide around his calf, but not bothersome. He is always in between a 12 1/2 and a 13, but in these the 13 fits best. However, I know Ariat is often a larger fit...so go figure! He says they are extremely comfortable, and they go with everything. Manly enough for my Marine, but can be dressed up for church or date nights. Love the distressed look and the squared toe! Absolutely nothing to complain about with these boots. He had never had any style of cowboy boots, so it took him a couple days to get used to the heel slipping a bit, but that is a good fit in a boot!

About Ariat
So they assembled a group of top footwear engineers and designers, and set them on the task of creating the world's most technically innovative performance riding boots. They started by re-designing the outsole, rethinking the arch support system and finally taking a hard look at the suitability of "traditional" last shape and fit. While they were building the technology platform for Ariat boots, they were also talking to hundreds of top riders who helped in the design and development of the final product.
In 1993, Ariat shipped their first pair of boots, and today Ariat is the world leader in performance equestrian footwear, offering a full range of English and Western riding boots, work boots and casual footwear – plus new lines of performance apparel and accessories to fully outfit today’s equine athletes and equestrian-inspired lifestyle enthusiasts.
Whether you are a professional equestrian athlete or a novice rider, you will find an Ariat boot with the performance technology that is perfect for you. Ariat boots cushion the foot while stabilizing the heel and arch, dramatically reducing fatigue and stress to the feet, legs and lower back. This amazing technology can also be found in a variety of casual Ariat shoes – providing you with comfortable and stylish alternative for those relaxed, easy-going days.

So it takes a certain amount of guts to order a pair of boots online. However, I have purchased Ariat boots before and knew my size, so I took the plunge. As with all Zappos orders the process was easy and they showed up sooner than I imagined. The boots look cool, break-in was not too bad and they fit well. All and all I am happy with the purchase.

Great pair of boots. They do seem to run on the narrow side; the wide version fit better than the narrow. Great look, very comfortable. Like the look from all angles. I looked everywhere to find a square toe boot without a buckle on the side, and these fit the bill. Great look without being over-the-top.

I absolutely love these boots! These are my first pair of cowboy boots, and I have to say that these boots have ruined any other boot for me. A lot of the reviews talk about a breaking in period for these boots, but I did not have that problem with mine. Within about 2-3 hours they felt completely normal and extremely comfortable. The cushion support they offer eliminates the need to buy any fancy padded insoles. I bought these in a size smaller than I usually buy my sneakers and 1/2 a size smaller than my workbooks. The picture shows the boots' leather to appear slightly grainy, but they are not at all, they are very smooth. I love these boots, and they will not soon be replaced.

The boots do have a smoother finish then the picture shows. I wear a 10.5 in normal shoes but went with the advise of getting a size smaller. Glad I did, they were a little snug but broke in very quickly and fit perfectly now. I have 4 pair of boots I wear regularly, and these are the most comfortable pair.
