So they assembled a group of top footwear engineers and designers, and set them on the task of creating the world's most technically innovative performance riding boots. They started by re-designing the outsole, rethinking the arch support system and finally taking a hard look at the suitability of "traditional" last shape and fit. While they were building the technology platform for Ariat boots, they were also talking to hundreds of top riders who helped in the design and development of the final product.
In 1993, Ariat shipped their first pair of boots, and today Ariat is the world leader in performance equestrian footwear, offering a full range of English and Western riding boots, work boots and casual footwear — plus new lines of performance apparel and accessories to fully outfit today´s equine athletes and equestrian-inspired lifestyle enthusiasts.
Whether you are a professional equestrian athlete or a novice rider, you will find an Ariat boot with the performance technology that is perfect for you. Ariat boots cushion the foot while stabilizing the heel and arch, dramatically reducing fatigue and stress to the feet, legs and lower back. This amazing technology can also be found in a variety of casual Ariat shoes — providing you with comfortable and stylish alternative for those relaxed, easy-going days.

Definitely a half size too big. Wonderful boot! I plan to re-order when my size is in stock. Will be great for fall and winter wet weather with that thick rubber (or whatever non-leather material) sole. Very dressy looking cowboy boot in all black. I don't see the all-black color in this model anymore on the Ariat website. I hope they haven't discontinued it. If so, I may go ahead and keep this one and put some sort of insole to take up space. Love the square toe, best for me with two middle toes that stick way out past the big toe. The Ariat insole provides good arch support.

Look cheap - I have been searching for quite some time to find just the perfect cowboy boot, and my search continues. I was shocked at how shiny the patent leather is on these boots! So much so that they look cheap. Plus, I found the length to be about an inch past my toes, resulting in the boots feeling quite clunky. Hmmmmm, if only I could design my own boots... maybe then I could not only get the look I desire, but the fit I need.

I had been looking for cowboy boots for months. I even looked at Zappos twice before buying. I realized they had the best price with the best options for me. The free shipping gave me the option of returning them if they didn't fit for no charge. That made my decision to order through them a plus. I have really narrow feet. The Ariat is cut to keep your foot in place better than other boots if you have narrow feet. I love my books. This style in Russet Rebel. They have made my summer and will definitely make my fall and many seasons to come.
I'd also recommend: Justins

I've had my eye on these for quite a while, and I'm so thrilled ot have finally ordered them! They're amazingly comfortable, to the point where I'd recommend them alongside other comfort brands like Keen or Born. I ordered brown oiled rowdy is more textured than it looks in the picture; it's not a smooth leather at all but has some pebbling. I've only worn the boots a couple times but the color is already starting to crease and crackle most pleasingly across the instep and toe. Great for that comfortable, rustic, worn in look.I had a heckuva time pulling these on the first time, even by cowboy boot standards, they were tough, but each time they've loosened up just a bit, to the point where now they're perfect. It still takes a fair bit of effort to pull them on and off, but that's how a cowboy boot should fit. There's no struggle, just effort. My feet are on the wideish side around the toe, and I ordered my usual size, 6.5, with great success. I think someone with an especially narrow foot might find these too wide, in fact. The heel is loose, as a cowboy boot should fit. The stitching is lovely, and absolutely impeccable. My calves are relatively large, and the bootshaft is still a bit on the loose side. You should be able to fit skinny jeans down in these without a problem! The toe on these is a bit boxier than I'd expected, but not at all stumpy. My other pair of boots are Lucchese, and they have a much pointier toe, so this was something to get used to! I quite like it though. In summary, if you already know and understand how cowboy boots should fit and feel, you'll be aware of what to expect. You'll also be pleasantly surprised by the padded, well supported footbed. If you've never worn similar boots before, though, do your research so you know what you're getting into. I love, love, love my new Ariat boots and can't wait to wear them several times a week. They're so comfortable, I can easily wear them for a day walking around the city or a long trek out in the country. They're the perfect everything boot!

Kick-butt boots - It took 24 hours to get my boots when I was expecting 4-5 business days for shipping, so that is always a plus. I wear 8 1/2 - 9 so I ordered an 8 1/2 size boot. The seams on the inside of the boot rubbed against my ankle at first, but after breaking them in, that went away. But I wish I would have ordered an 8 because they feel a little bigger now. I ordered Russet Rebel color which looks exactly as it does online...such an awesome boot!

These boots are cute, cute cute! But definitely take heed to the advice about ordering a half size smaller! I ordered a 6.5 which is what I wear 99% of the time. My foot (particularly my heel) was swimming in them. I am returning them for size 6. I can tell they will be very comfy! Oh, and I ordered them Thursday and already received them by Friday afternoon. That blows me away! I love Zappos.com.
