I thought these were a lot clunkier in person than online. The boot shaft was too stiff and high for me. It cut into the front of my calf. I have relatively short calves, so maybe that's part of the problem, since many others report the boots were comfortable for them. Even if they had been comfortable, I would have returned them because they didn't have as sleek a look as I would like.

These are my everyday work boots, riding boots, driving boots. They are very comfortable and clean up nicely, but they are not show boots. They don't shine like English job boots for show ring. I've even gone swimming in the river with my horses and had these boots on! They dried out and were fine. I bathe my horses in them, too. They are all around great boots!

This is my second order that has to be sent back because there is a hard bump in the inner sole in one boot. What gives with Ariat's quality control? Now my size is sold out again so I have to wait until Zappos gets another order. Very frustrating. I'll give it one more go but if I get the same defective product I'll be done with Ariat.

Love these! So far, they are indeed waterproof, so they're pretty warm to wear inside all day. Wide enough for my wide-ish feet, and not bad looking -- I used a black sharpie on the zipper to tone it down a little.

Another fabulous boot from Ariat! My feet are slightly wide (I sometimes order up a half size to accommodate) -- not needed here -- the toe box is ample. This boot is a sleek work boot with a nod to style - but not a fashion boot. For Chicago winters, long walks with the dog and riding - absolutely perfect. I love Ariat's solid construction - no rolling around yet has a comfort footbed. The collar is tight, the leather stiff. I was just able to get it on thanks to the zipper (high arch / instep). After four days of use they are breaking in nicely - the leather definitely softened up. These will last years.
I'd also recommend: All Ariat lines; Asolo hiking boots
