Arche Reviews
This shoe runs wide and I was disappointed in the lack of cushion in the ball of the foot. There is no arch support at all. The leather is thin and cheap looking for the price. I will be returning them.
Arche brand is the most comfortable shoe I've worn in years. They are worth the cost. I've got just about every color in this style they make.
I wish I could wear these all the time -- well, I practically do. I have foot problems (bunions and poor arches), and a teaching job that involves standing and walking all day long. The Arche Laius are soft and flexible, and so comfortable! Their classic ballet style goes with everything from jeans to evening clothes. There's no question that they are expensive, but absolutely worth the price. In the long run, they have proved to be a much better buy than the many pairs of cheaper and less well-made shoes that end up sitting in my closet.
A lovely, well made boot! Fits well, and is comfortable even when you are on your feel most of the day. Arche always makes a good product. This is no exception.
I agree with the previous reviewer's assessment of the sole, but I've solved the problem by inserting my orthotics. The shoe fits perfectly with them and has very good support. The sole isn't as thick or substantial as some of Arche's other casual lines (e.g., last year's Costic or this year's Reeval), but it's very comfortable and stylish. I'm keeping my pair, and I'm very pleased with the flexibility provided by the elasticized "laces" along the side. I have narrow heels and fairly standard-width front feet, and these shoes fit beautifully. They will be great for daily wear, particularly for city weekends.
This is a nice, simple little ballet, but I wish the soles would have been more substantive. They are fairly thin. I didn't think I would be able to walk in them for a good part of the day, so I am returning them. Many have commented that the shoe runs small; I normally wear a size 7 or 7-1/2 and went with my normal size, 38. It was a little snug, but jumping up to size 39 might not have worked. This shoe would be more successful if it came in half sizes, as ballets are sometimes hard to fit anyway. For a shoe of this price range, you'd think Arche would care enough about fit to offer half sizes.
It's rare that I spend this much on shoes, but Arche has done it again! These shoes are beautiful. The leather is luscious, the soles have just enough of a heel to be stylish but are oh-so-comfortable. I will wear these with dress slacks to the office and with jeans on the weekends. My only quibble with Arche is that, ironically, considering the name, their shoes never have much arch support! But I've bought many pairs of Arche shoes, sandals and boots over the years, and the comfort, style and quality can't be beat (I bought them in black, but I'm tempted to buy them again if they become available in my size!). Parisian women wear Arche shoes instead of sneakers, and ever since I discovered this brand (in France in the 1980s), that's what I do too.
This shoe is ridiculously comfortable. I was a bit skeptical, mainly based on the price, but after wearing it a few times I am a complete convert. These shoes are literally as comfortable as wearing sneakers, and yet they look professional and even pretty. Such quality workmanship!
Very comfortable, simple boot. Just supple leather that conforms to your foot and a lightweight sole.
Nice quality shoes but the fit is off. No choice but to return them. They are quite narrow across the toes but normal width on the heel.
I'm thrilled with these. They're elegant. Sexy. Beautifully made.Classic but also on-trend. Perfect color. SOOOO comfortable.Great with a skirt, slacks, or your favorite pair of Levi's. Seriously. They're wonderful. Don't hesitate to buy them. I know they're pricey, but you'll be able to wear them with so many different outfits. And these shoes will last and look current for years to come.
Beautiful, comfortable shoe, but overpriced. Also, unfortunately it runs small- their size 12 is at best 11.5 (43 Eur), not a 44 Eur.
I purchased this shoe right before I went to Paris! I don't know what I would have done without it. It looked so good with capris, and I felt like I fit right in with the Parisians. Most importantly, it was so comfortable. I have a rather large bunion, but it fit right over it. I did not feel like there was any problem with the arch, which I thought was going to bother me. I wore them every waking moment for 8 days. I just ordered another pair in another color as they are on sale. My shoe was the one that kind of looks like faux lizard skin, can't remember the name of it.
I've owned several pairs of Arche shoes over the years. I am always seduced by their good looks, that soft buttery nubuck leather, etc. And yet they are never as comfortable as they look. This style is no exception, and I think I am going to send it back. This shoe is a snug fit even though I ordered up as suggested. It has no arch support to speak of and although the leather is nice and soft, I am pretty sure that if I tried to do any serious walking around in these shoes I'd get a hotspot or blister from the topline rubbing my foot within a few blocks. This makes me very sad because they are truly beautiful shoes, and I especially love the deep royal blue color I ordered. But I don't think I can keep them. Luckily, Zappos has the best customer service in the world, and it will be painless to send them back. Thanks, Zappos!
The review I read indicated there was excellent arch support. The is no support at all.
