Finally, a shoe that fits right out of the box. I wear a size 10.5, & B or D width. I tried the 'B' width, too narrow and very stiff. I searched Zappos looking for Aravon D width and found this. Zappos' ordering and returning system is the best on this planet, completely stress free. There are other shoe shippers out there, but none to match this company.

This is more a review of Zappos than of this shoe. I received it on a Monday, it is a little too small (my fault), it seems like a very well-made and sturdy shoe, also good-looking, so i called Zappo\\\'s and told them i needed a larger size, this was late in the afternoon. The very next day the replacement shoes are at my house, i haven\\\'t even had a chance to box up the original pair. The customer service is not only speedy but it is extremely polite and professional. I just love shopping at Zappos, every online store should be this way.

Best shoe I've ever worn. Gives support in all the right places. True to size and width. I'm happier with the shoe than I thought I would be. I have major back trouble, and this shoe gives support right where I need it. I can be on my feet all day without pain due to the shoe.

Let me begin by saying I had surgery and have a screw in my ankle. I was planning a trip to Paris and wanted comfortable walking shoes that didn\'t look like big white American sneakers. These were perfect. From the first time I wore them, they were comfortable and I didn\'t get blisters or sore feet. I tried an 8 1/2 wide and a 9 regular. I ended up with the 9. These shoes are worth the price.

By far, these are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned,in the same category as Mephisto but a bit more comfortable for the check book! The first pair I ordered was small, so maybe they run small; sometimes i am a 38, sometimes a 39, in these I needed a 39. If you are planning on doing a lot of walking, these are the shoes you want!

About Aravon
One of the secrets behind Aravon's comfort is actually one you can throw away. Contoured, cushioned, and supportive, the Aravon footbed is completely removable. Why? So that you can use a pair of your own custom orthotics. Nonetheless, the Velocor® footbed remains an exquisite piece of engineering, tailored to each Aravon style. Full-length in some, three-quarter length in heels, the removable Velocor® footbed in every Aravon shoe is built to enhance comfort on many levels.
As part of the New Balance® family of brands, Aravon is all about fit. Every style is made on a naturally contoured last and comes in multiple widths and extensive sizes. We are a few seasoned shoe developers who believe that footwear should support a woman's sense of well-being as well as her sense of style. That's why we designed Aravon-casual footwear with remarkable fit, comfort, performance, and style. Ladies, it's time to vote with your feet.

Ordered for my mom, who actually can walk very little, but needed wider shoes to keep working at it. She says they are very comfortable and leave room for her toes to move. They were comfortable even after she had them on sitting in a wheelchair most of the day

I tried and returned 7 pairs of shoes before I found these. I teach first grade and spend all day on my feet on a concrete floor. I wore these shoes all day Friday and found myself walking extra steps because my feet were so comfortable. I put them on at 6:15 and took them off at 5:15 and my feet were not tired. I wore them again all day yesterday and am ordering a second pair in the nubuck (the first pair is the leather). My feet are wide in the front and narrow in the heel. These shoes support my feet in all the right places. They are not girlie shoes but in about 10 minutes of wearing, I forgot all about that. I love these shoes!

I purchased these shoes several weeks ago. They're very comfortable! They have felt great from the moment I put them on; no break-in period. I'm on my feet and running around most of the day in a medical laboratory. The insole looks like it's made of good stuff, but I popped them out and slipped in my custom orthotics. I was afraid the shoes would look kind of granny-ish, but I've gotten lots of compliments from my co-workers about how much they like my shoes.

Decent pair of shoes. Nice leather outer and style is streamlined, but after a month, I can tell that the the inside support is wearing out already.

Finding comfortable shoes is a problem for me because of my unusual shoe size (wide in front, normal width at heel, bunions, large half size) and several areas of foot pain. These shoes were very comfortable right out of the box and I have worn them daily since purchase. They are as comfortable as my most expensive oxford walking shoes, a Mephisto shoe that cost three times more. In fact, I think they fit me slightly better. Obviously they are not the most stylish shoes in the world, but actually look decent worn with long pants or jeans and look better to my taste than some other comfort oxfords I've tried such as SAS. I have the black nubuck which I suspect looks nicer than the smooth leather although I like the fit so much I may purchase both types. I like that these shoes do not have a prominent logo. All in all, a great shoe at a good price.

My feet are finicky and hard to fit. I have a wide forefoot, a narrow heel, and Morton's neuromas on both feet. So I rarely find shoes that I'm completely happy with. But I am thrilled to have discovered Aravon. These shoes were immediately comfortable (though I'd have liked them a tad wider), so comfortable that I took then on a two-week trip to Ireland only a week or so after I bought them. On that trip I never had a problem--no blisters, no pain. I'm just hoping that New Balance expands the Aravon line. The shoes are much more attractive than the usual athletic shoe and much more comfortable than shoes of most other brands. (I do think New Balance might have supplied longer shoelaces. The laces were so short that they kept coming united and had to be replaced). I usually have to buy much more expensive European shoes if I want a good fit. So it was also good to find a relatively inexpensive shoe that works for me. As always, Zappos service was incomparable! Thanks, Zappos and New Balance.

I tried this shoe even though I normally wear extra-wide and these shoes only come in wide. It is a very well-made shoe, but unfortunately too narrow in the toes for me. The heels fit well -- they don\'t make the mistake of making the heel excessively wide, which it seems some companies have started to do. If these are released in extra-wide, I would try again. I think they would be great for anyone who spends 16 hours a day on their feet.

I wear custom orthotics and typically need to buy high-end European brands to find the comfort and fit I need. These were much less expensive but serve much the same purpose. I only have two negative comments. First, the heel is a little too narrow and pinches my orthotics there, even though it fits well everywhere else (I bought the "wide" width). Second, although the styling is a little dressier than a sneaker, I wish it could look a little nicer yet for everyday office wear in a corporate setting. If you're used to wearing oxfords, though, this will probably work well enough. In sum, if you wear orthotics and want good support, this shoe seems comparable to more expensive brands like Mephisto and Finn Comfort (which I also own), but delivers at a much more reasonable price. The sides are high enough to hide the sides of the orthotics. I had tried another, more stylish looking brand on this site and had to return it. Even though the other shoes were described as appropriate for orthotics, the shoe bed was not deep enough to support and conceal the sides. This Aravon shoe did not have that problem.

Has the look of what's in, and the comfort of a sneaker. Put a pair with slim dark jeans and a boyfriend jacket and city-ready wear plus. With a pair of leggings and a slouch long sweater, casual dinner out steps up a notch. And did I mention comfort and support? I bought two pairs - black and cream.

Love these shoes. They have the look of an oxford so they are in style, and they are even more comfortable than my NB walking sneakers. Wish I had had these this summer when I was walking around Paris! They are definitely casual shoes, though - I wouldn\'t wear them with a suit - but they work well in my business casual work place, where jeans are accepted.

This shoe is good looking and well made. Unfortunately, it was not wide enough in the D width. Also my foot rolled to the outside because there was not enough support on the outside edge.

This is a nice, supportive shoe. I have an injury and was looking for a shoe that would be more attractive than my white New Balance sneakers. This looks good with pants or a skirt/dress and black tights. My orthotics fit in the shoe well. I did have to add a plain Dr. Scholl's liner to the bottom. After taking out the removable insole to add my orthotics, there wasn't enough cushioning. But the Dr. Scholl's liner did the trick. I am very happy with these shoes.

I was disappointed in the way this shoe fit. The heel was too loose, and the style was not as attractive as a similar Grasshopper shoe I purchased last year for much less (unfortunately no longer available). I bought a wide for bunions, but I don't have large feet overall, and most of the wide shoes no longer have narrow heels.

Comfort personified! There was no doubt in my mind, as soon as I tried these on, that these were the comfortable shoes for which I have been searching. I am on my feet all day and I need something supportive of my feet and back. Plus, they look cute with corduroys and jeans. I highly recommend these shoes!
