I am sending these back. They are in fact a 9 1/2which are a half size too large. They weren't cute enough or comfortable enough to try for a smaller size.

I've worn these twice now. The first time, they were tight in the afternoon when my foot swelled. The second time they were just perfect. I purchased my normal size in these. Plenty of toe room, comfortable insole. I am very pleased with this shoe. This is not a style I am normally drawn to, but I'm glad I tried it! I will be trying other styles from Ara.

These are very, very, very tight. And there's no wide option. You need a very tiny foot to make these work.

These shoes were beautiful, but made my feet fall asleep. I wish they would have been as comfortable as they looked. Not clunky, but obviously too tight somewhere!

Love this boot. Very comfy right out of the box. I did have to buy a 1/2 size bigger, and it is perfect. Sometimes B width shoes are too narrow for me, but this fit perfectly. I imagine if you have a narrow foot, you might have problems. Love the square toe -- modern, and gives your toes space to be comfy on long walks. Totally waterproof fabric. Lightweight.

These shoes are comfortable and stylish. They fit true to size. I'm always hesitant to order shoes online, but these are exactly as pictured and I love them!

These are lovely shoes; soft, flexible sole, great padding inside, and well made but, boy, are they wide. They are supposed to be medium, but they gapped all around my foot.

I have had this pair of boots for over a year and I absolutely love them. The boot is extremely classy looking and provides the ultimate in comfort. I always get lots of compliments when I wear them.

These shoes were way too narrow across the forefoot for me. Also, the style was attractive, but I missed that the upper is synthetic and I prefer leather. I chose instead to keep the Ara Rachel, which was more comfortable for me.

My pair of black on black just arrived and they were indeed comfy right out of the box! This is just what I was looking for: the perfect combination of Anne Klein style and Keen comfort and utility. I usually wear a 7 but based on the other reviews I ordered the 7-1/2 and it's perfect. I wish they had a tad bit more arch support, but they feel very comfortable and supportive. Just the thing for my trip to Europe this spring. I plan to war them with pants and dresses while negotiating cobblestone streets. I want to bring just one carry-on bag so these and one pair of walking shoes will be all I'll be packing. Great find! One word of warning: out of the box, the black soles leave marks on floors. Hopefully that will change with wearing.

This may be the most comfortable shoe that I have ever worn. It is also adorable with dress pants or jeans. I can't wait to check out other shoes by ara.

I agree with Anonymous from Philadelphia. I found these good looking shoes really rigid just trying them on for a minute. I can imagine if I wore them to an event my feet would be miserable. I have two pairs of Ara boots that are comfortable (although they're not leather), so I was hoping the shoes would be more foot friendly. Too bad - they're going back in the box.

I wanted to love it but just liked it. I cannot keep it for this price unless I love it. The length was good. It runs true to width which means it was a bit narrow for me but the leather is super soft so I do not think that would have been a huge issue. The padding under the heel is great but the padding under the ball of the foot seems very thin. It might work out ok but I need to be comfortable walking all day and I want some cushioning. These just did not have cushioning. They do look really spiffy though! If I did not need to be on my feet so much I would keep them.

These boots are it! I had my heart set on some tall or mid-calf dress boots but with my rather slim legs it was not to be. These boots are really elegant, fitted and slim with plenty of room for my toes. Soft sole is very comfortable and the boots look lovely with pants and dresses, too!

I have trouble finding a comfortable shoe due to bilateral bunions. These are the best fitting, most comfortable, stylish pair of shoes I have ever found in my unending quest for comfy shoes! They're well worth the price.

Love the shoes! They felt comfortable from day 1. I can wear them all day and feel there is good support. Great service from Zappos.

Beyond the fact that I've been looking for these boots for a number of years, the service I was given by Zappos made me a definite devotee. I accidentally ordered the wrong size boot, and when I realized this, I saw that there was only one pair left in my size. I wish I could recall the name of the agent who assisted me...she was wonderful. She sent me the correct size pair before I sent the others back. She made me feel important and trusted. Where does this ever happen?

This is one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes that I own! Though I usually wear heels/pumps, and this is the first pair of Aras that I have bought, I often wear these to work on Fridays, plus on weekends. I will also wear them to travel where lots of walking is required (such as in airports). They provide great support, while still being cute! They are classy with dress slacks, yet still fun with jeans. Buy one size smaller--I wear an 8½, and an 8 was perfect! They are well worth the money.

I usually wear a 6 1/2 but this shoe runs big and I needed a 6. It is very comfortable and looks great with jeans or slacks. It's a keeper!
