I have been running in these for almost a year now. I switched to Altras because of previous injury in other shoes and because I have wide feet. I also run in the Provisioness (road shoe). The Lone Peaks are my absolute favorite shoe. They are very comfortable for long runs (I regularly do half marathons and train on alot of trails). Not a fan of the mud rudder in the back as I find it flips mud up on to me, however it seems easy enough to cut off if it bugs you that bad (I left it alone). Definitely a 5 star shoe.

I'd also recommend: Altra Provisioness

Tried so many shoes for off road and I was miserable. The Lone Peak 1.5 are just thin enough and with enough traction that I literally do not need to stop for a rock never mind evade one, fits perfectly my size is 7.5 my right foot 1/2 size larger than left and got the 8.0 and it's perfect. Got enough room in the toe box, the shoe is also low enough on my foot that it doesn't cause skin abrasion and therefore hyperpigmentation as I have been experiencing with brooks adrenaline and some asics. Lone Peak 1.5 have enough cushion that my feet did not tire after a 5mile first run and so forth - I do not experience any foot discomfort, tightness or pain since I changed cold turkey to zero drop Altra.

I'd also recommend: Superior 1.5

I got theses shoes for long-distance hiking. I wore these on a recent day hike, and I felt like I was wearing slippers. It's the most comfortable my feet have ever been hiking. My feet were protected from rocks on the trail. I love that there's built in velcro to attach my gaiters. I'll probably add better arch support for when I'm carrying a weighty pack and traveling long distances. I'm so glad I found these shoes!

My new favorite trail shoes! These have a super-wide toe box which is shaped like an actual foot, so I found these to be super comfy, almost more like slippers. That being said, they have great grip and my feet don't move around in them, so I never worried on slippery trails. I'm a backpacker, not a runner, so the only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars for comfort is that I needed to put in a cushier insole to help with the weight of my pack. Also, the 'trail rudder' is a bit ridiculous and not helpful, so I cut it off. But big bonus for the already existing gaiter velcro.

I love Altra's zero drop shoes. My feet would ache and become numb in running shoes with a cushy heel and a neuroma on one foot really pained me after a couple of miles. Altra's have been my answer to greatly reduced pain. Have three different styles, wearing to work, run, kick around. Orange is not my color but can't have everything! Also seem to need to buy larger size than perhaps you are used to!
