Alternative Apparel Reviews
Update on this top. Tried a medium after returning the large because the armholes gaped. The medium was just a bit too tight across the chest for the easy look in the photos. Might have been better braless, but I'm not going there. So 4 stars for me, but could be 5 for others. Giving up on this top, but I still like the brand and would try other styles.
Great fit, unfinished hem so you can have it finished to your height or just cut it. I added a t-shirt hem, it looks great. I will be wearing this a lot this summer.
Attention pear shape ladies: I don't typically leave reviews, but I'm thinking I should start because it's tough to find reviews from true pear shaped women. I am 5'4, with a 32" bust (I typically wear 2-4s or smalls up top), tiny waist, and a 41-42" hip (I wear 8s and 10 petites at most stores). I would basically fit into a rap music video better than I fit into most dresses. What I'm saying is it's pretty difficult for me to find dresses that fit top to bottom that aren't either too baggy up top or too tight on bottom. Maxis are such great summer dresses, but they are typically made of clingy material and reveal a bit too much from the hips down. I just got this maxi and it really is an surprisingly perfect exception! It flares just at the right part of the hip so you cant see any booty dimples, or too much jiggle. You can't even tell how thick my thighs are, much to my man's dismay, but my delight! Point is, if you are a true pear and you're wondering if you can rock a clingy maxi outside of the house -- this is the one for you! I'm about to buy several more now. Oh, and I don't mind that the bottom of the dress isn't finished, because I plan to hem it...or not and just wear wedges.

While the style is very cute, the fabric is too sheer/lightweight for me - I'd have to wear something underneath, which defeats the purpose of a cool summer maxi.

Been living in this dress! Super cute with a chambray shirt. Bottom was long but unfinished so it was easily cut shorter. The fit is great!
Though I love the idea of this dress, it's not quality enough for the price. As another reviewer said, the arms holes are too big, so it shows your bra and feels a little like a cheap tank. Bummer because I really liked the idea of it! With that said, for sizing purpose info: I am 5'7", 155 pounds and the medium fit perfectly.
These tights are absolutely amazing. They fit perfectly and I am 5'9 and weigh 133lbs. I bought small and was scared it wouldn't fit. They fit extra long and are form fitting and very comfortable.

The bottom of this shirt has an unfinished style. It is rough and frayed and looks cheap in my eyes. On the other had, the fabric is incredibly soft and comfortable.
Cute tank but very vintage-y, so not appropriate for anything other than very casual or beach wear. Lightweight and a good shape. Runs just a bit narrow for this brand. I tried the L and XL and would have gone with the XL, since it had more room across the hips. Left alone it would have needed something underneath, or I was considering taking in the seam at the top of the strap to wear it as a single layer. The stars are cream rather than white. I tried it under a cream jacket - good color combo. Too bad the fabric was too casual.

This dress was beautiful right out of the package. The pattern in the Desert Sky color hides a multitude of sins. The dark part is a taupe color, and the light is a lighter taupe shading to an off-white. The shape is similar to the solid racerback maxi, with an a-line shape to the skirt that flares away from the thighs just where I need it to. However, this fabric is softer and stretchier than the "eco" colors, so I could get away with sizing down from the other dress. Love both, but I think this is going to be a favorite.
Pretty top. I got the bright blue, which is a true blue a shade lighter than royal. I wear an XL in Alternative Apparel dresses; the large in this top was too big. Armholes hang low so expect a bra to show (are the models in the photos wearing one?). The back is much longer than the front, so it covers the rear end. Concept is good, so I'm returning it for a medium to see whether that works better.
Love this skirt! It is comfortable and as a petite gal it doesn't overwhelm me. I'm 5'2 and typically a size 6, and I ordered a small. It's long but it looks great with some wedges. I just hike it up to above my waist. Haven't washed it yet, I'm not sure how it will hold up since it's pretty thin material.
Very versatile shape and color. Ordered this in eco black in large and extra-large. The color isn't black at all - it's a dark gray with a heathery look to it. Not super-stretchy but very forgiving, with subtle, irregular horizontal striping; the stripes don't show enough to matter. The shape was perfect for me - racer back with an easy a-line skirt. I'm 5'5" and pear-shaped 160+. The L would have been good with about 10 fewer pounds; the XL was great. I've worn it with a couple of different hip-length cardigans and plan to use it under a jacket or vest, too. It was 2-3 inches too long, but easy to shorten. Cut with scissors and pull edges so they roll. Have already ordered 2 more.
I purchased this in true burgundy and Eco true black, despite reading reviews of its different fit. The reviews were correct. The burgundy felt softer, had more stretch, and fit better up top. The black dress was shorter, not as stretchy but still fitted (not a great combo) and gaped up top. I wish I had looked at the label prior to review to see if the fabric was different...it sure felt that way. I returned the black, and purchased the navy. This dress is great for taller women because of the unfinished hem at the bottom. For reference I am 5'8", 150, smaller up top wider hips, and the medium looked great. The dress hits the floor barefoot. I am trying to not buy each color.
This is my favorite sweatshirt ever. I have it in gray, Eco black, and plain black. It is light and comfortable, therefore it is versatile for both the cold and warm seasons. Being that it is light, it is very easy to layer with other sweatshirts or jackets. Overtime this sweatshirt gets very worn in to such a degree that you will never want to take it off. It washes well and is preshrunk. It is my favorite zip up ever, that's why I have three!
Got it in black. Love the style and the kangaroo pocket. Only complaint is that after 1 wash the outside came out pilled. It's still comfy and it didn't fade or shrink much. It does run a size small so I ordered a size up after reading the other reviews - I wish I'd ordered 2 sizes up since I prefer this style to be roomier (like a boyfriend sweatshirt). If you prefer a less-relaxed fit, ordering 1 size up should work.
I love this tank. It has the perfect neckline, back coverage, and armholes. Very soft and cozy. I'm 5'5" 108 pounds, and the small fits great. In fact, it is rather tight around the waist and there's not much stretch in this fabric. If you want a relaxed fit, size up. To call this tank "sheer" is an understatement. I can see my belly button through the "burned out" areas. I wish Zappos had the grey color.
I bought this a little larger than usual to wear as a maternity shirt (5 months along) and it's perfect with a tank underneath...received many compliments!
