The first time I walked around for 20 minutes, and felt the shoe was cushiony. The second time, the cushion effect was already gone. After a 30 minute walk, the shoe had developed a slit across the toe area. I got a blister there at the base of my toe. I am really disappointed.

This shoe is relatively comfortable. I feel the the back vamp could have been a little higher. I wear my orthotic with them, which does take a little room away from the shoe. They are cute and look great with jeans, but I find it hard to wear them all day. Not sure if they're worth the price, but worth a try.

I bought these to wear sightseeing in Paris. I wanted an athletic shoe that didn't look like the typical tennis shoe Americans wear abroad. I have worn Mephisto (Helen sandal) for 19 years and have loved them for the arch support that I really need. These were a disappointment in as far as there is not much support. However, because the shoe is so roomy, I replaced the insole with my own orthodic and it seems fine now.

A light, casual sandal that has a flat footbed and doesn't have arch support. I have a flat foot with a wide toe box and narrow heel, but only 1 strap around the toes is adjustable.

This is my second pair of these shoes. Good for travel as they are comfortable for leisurely walking and can be worn with pants or skirts.

I had a two-year old pair of Ecco Yucatans that I really liked, and these cost twice as much. I bought these Mephistos on the thought that maybe more expensive is better. It isn't, exactly. Getting used to these, the shaped footbed is the very biggest obstacle. Hugely tall heel, very low toes, high arch bump. The entire footbed is sunken a bit, which surrounds your foot with a small raised edge that makes it hard to get rocks out when they get under your foot. A surprising thing visually is that these sandals have heels - real, separate heels, like a dress shoe, not a one-piece rising sole that hits the ground flat. That looks kind of funny at first but I got used to it. Sizewise, my foot rattles around in these because they are much wider than any other sandals I've bought in the last few years. That is not bad, just be warned - they are a bit wide. I bought the brown sandals, and they are a very light brown, almost tan. Not bad color, but much lighter than anyone else's "brown" sandal. I have no idea about durability - I've only worn these day in and day out for three weeks. Good so far! My only real complaint is that these sandals have plastic clips to take the over-foot strap on and off, and the left one on my set of sandals is very balky and they both feel flimsy and require just-right foot positioning to work. After the third try at freeing my left foot or at getting the things to latch when I'm not positioned exactly straight over my sandals, I find myself wishing they'd just used velcro!

I wore my new Mephisto Niwa's for seventeen days on cobblestone, steps, streets, and marble floors as I traveled in Italy, Austria, and the Czech Republic. What is so amazing about this is that I always rotate my shoes every day as my feet are arthritic and I try to alter pressure points. Because you can alter the width...ties shoes...and the length...velcro strap in the back, they can "change size" if you need to adjust to swollen airplane feet or other situations. I told my traveling companions they are the best investment I have made. They are not "pretty" or "dressy," but they are a comfortable, cool, walking shoe.

I wanted a shoe that was stylish for walking around cities on trips to hot climates. This shoe does that and it is very comfortable--no break-in period. This is my first Mephisto and they are expensive so I hope it lasts. I do wish the sole color was a beige and not white.

This is the finest pair of sandals I have experienced in the last thirty years. The inner sole is extraordinarily comfortable, straps are easy to adjust for proper fit, and the clips make fastening and removal a breeze.

The most comfortable shoes! They adjust at the heel and across the top. High quality finish. The only thing I can wear with my numb feet due to multiple sclerosis. Have them in blue and black. Have 2 pr of ea, they are so good! And my orthotics fit inside.

I wear Allrounders, nearly exclusively. I tried to like this shoe. It is a nice color...similar style to others I have and like a lot...accommodated my orthotics...was lighter weight, but it just didn't feel right at all. So returning...it didn't sit on the ground, so to speak correctly and was not comfortable. Never sure why the styles need to change as much as they do. Sometimes it'd be great to have a style flow through many seasons.

I bought these shoes for my daily commute which involves a 1 mile walk each way. These are much cuter than sneakers and much more comfortable than my other casual shoes. I can wear them with pants and skirts with and without socks/stockings. I think that they run a bit large and also wide. The width is one of the biggest problems for me because I cannot tighten the velcro closure enough for an optimal fit. I also think that these shoes are pricey.

I was interested in lightweight waterproof " all terrain " style sneakers and I wanted a simple design. I didn't want shoes to climb Mt Everest! I wanted to wear them 4 seasons ( shorts to pants ) on sidewalks in the city and trails in the country. I also wanted them to double as boots for winter. I wanted a lot! I am a 10 - 10 1/2 and I went with the larger size. The fit is perfect and I must say, they are the most comfortable shoes I've worn in a long time. Last Saturday, I wore them straight, for 9 hours, right out of the box!! Btw, the removable insert is thin, so it must be the construction of the shoes, which makes them so comfortable. I am very picky when it comes to quality, fit and style and I give these shoes a 10. Btw, I usually stay away from shoes not manufatured in Europe, but this time i made an exception, and I'm glad I did.

I always have a hard time finding comfortable shoes with enough support. Sandals, especially, are the hardest as I try to wear orthotics in my other shoes because of bunions and neuromas in both feet but orthotics don't work very well in sandals. The Lagoona saved the day for me. It is very comfortable and a great looking summer sandal for casual wear. It has lots of support and a ridge for the toes to grip. Love the color of the tan model.

This is a replacement shoe...my foot has "grown" since in the last 8 years since I purchased my first pair! It is excellent for travel. Just returned from Prague and the cobble stones are killers...these shoes give support and comfort.

I loved the look of these shoes and was hopeful they would be comfortable since Mephisto are usually comfortable but, not stylish. These are disappointing, the right shoe is shorter than the left and the comfort/support they offer is minimal. I wore these a few times on vacation with the hope the right shoe would stretch, to no avail. I will not get my money's worth from these.

I do love the looks of these shoes, and the build and materials are very high quality. You can tell the moment you see them that they will last a very long time. However, I do have a small problem with them. They feel "just" a bit too large on my right foot. The left feels perfect. The problem is your feet might slide around inside due to the fact that the inside is so smooth. The heel just doesn't seem to "grip" my foot well. I'd like to exchange them but now they don't have the size I need. Not sure what I'm going to do with them. If I can find the size I need, I'll re-order for those. If not, I'll just hang on to them until I can find a replacement. In summary, go for it if you like the looks, but when you get them, really walk around your house and make sure you like the fit. If not, don't be afraid to order half a size down if they slide around on the heel as you walk around.

Very good shoe. I have feet problems and can't wear shoes that have too much flex. These are firm. A very good casual shoe. More casual that the picture shows.

Comfortable, versatile shoe with good arch support. I walked across Scandinavia without any foot, leg or lower back discomfort. I highly recommend this shoe.

Shoe is easy on and off, but it is a bit too roomy (and I don't have a narrow foot). It also looks kind of clunky, like it is a size larger than it is. It's very comfortable to walk in; I bought it for summer walking in the city and mountains. If I could, I'd get a half size smaller next time. Otherwise it's a pretty good walker.

These shoes are light, stable, and so handsome. Just know that the insole is flimsy, and offered little support or cushioning -- but, with orthotics, they are my dream shoe. If helpful, I'm size 7.5, have a wide foot with high arches.
