These shoes would be a perfect 5 Star across the board if only they had a little more padding under the sole of my foot. I wear a Wide shoe normally, so the "wider than marked" rating for this medium width shoe was fine for me. Perfect for travel. Lightweight for packing. Extremely comfortable after I added a cushioned inner sole (but for the price of the shoe, I should not have had to spend any more).

Not up to expected Mephisto quality...pricey for what it is, the materials used and construction of the shoe. The removable insert that is supposed to provide cushioning was really thin and did not cushion my feet at all. I could feel cobblestones under my feet. I needed to add my own additional layer of cushioning material, but to do that I needed to go up 1/2 size. Once my own additional cushioning was added, the shoe was comfortable and I wore them out of the box for several weeks of walking and light hiking around China. Two strap system was nice for adjusting shoes for hiking up and down hills. Nice wide base for foot stability. I thought Mephisto used to be made in France, these are made in China, so not sure why they cost so much.

I have worn Mephisto shoes before but this is the first sandal. The size is perfect and I like the color. I wear my sandals barefoot & the first problem was the threads seem to be the fishing line type. So where the little ends are sticking up they hurt my feet. But I did solve that by gently filing the end with my nail file, in case this helps someone else. The only other problem is my feet are narrow and my foot lifts out of the heel when I walk.

I am a big Mephisto fan. Wear these for a day in the house on carpet before you decide to keep them. I found the cup like design of the footbed tends to crowd the foot. On my foot the outer side is annoying and I cannot wear them for any length of time before I have to take them off.

I have 2 pair of these Galina's and get lots of compliments on them. The first pair I got 4 years ago in orange which is a great fun color that actually goes with a lot. I wore them non-stop in Italy (lots of all day walking) and they were perfect! They are now almost 4 years old and still fabulous though a bit more scuffed than I'd like and it's hard to find orange shoe polish. Last spring I bought a 2nd pair in the coffee color, and I'm considering buying the blue or the red this spring! (What I'd buy in a heartbeat is purple! Hint, hint.) Clearly, I love this shoe!

Love these shoes! I am a 2 to 3 mile a day walker and these really work for me. I like that I can adjust the top strap as needed while I am walking.

I have owned a pair of these shoes previously, and always felt the comfort was worth the price. They make great travel shoes because you can walk miles in them, and your feet never hurt. I ordered another pair as my current shoes are getting a bit worn, and as other reviewers have mentioned, the quality has definitely declined. The new pair is not nearly as comfortable or well made. I'm not convinced the current design and quality of this shoe is worth the price.

Great quality that lasts a long time! They are worth the price. I wore my first pair year round for three years and they are still in good shape. I wore them touring Europe. Great comfort, support, and style.

I bought these shoes about 4 or 5 years ago and absolutely loved them. They are great to walk in and always so comfortable. I have bunions and other foot issues. Going into the 3rd winter I thought I should replace them with a new pair. I didn't mind spending the money since I felt they were well worth the money. The second pair just didn't have the same great feel to them. They were the exact same size and exact same shoe, but felt short and snug. The inner sole feels stiff. I figured they would loosen up and feel better with wear. I've had them 2 years now and hardly ever wear them. I try them with different socks and just can't make them feel comfortable. I wish I had sent them back but it's too late now.

This is my second pair -- I love them and they wear like iron. It took years of wear in all conditions to wear out the first.

It is amazing how hard it is to find modest and attractive sneakers at a reasonable price. To be clear this price is not at all reasonable for this pair of sneakers, but at the same time it is impossible to find anything as understated and attractive as the Allrounder is for anything less (trust me: I bought a dozen other pairs when I got these, and I was not expecting these the most expensive of the bunch to be the ones I went with). They are very comfortable and hold up well throughout the day. I am not sure that they are any more comfortable than any other decent shoes, mind you. To anyone saying that they size large: read Mephisto's sizing guidance first; their shoes are designed to run a bit large (although, again, I am not sure that I am really understanding the benefit here). Two things that are lame: 1) The shoelaces are about 6-8" longer than they need to be. You will need to make a couple big double-knots just so you do not step on your own shoelaces and undo them all the time. It is a very curious decision to include such long laces... 2) The edge of the tongue of the shoe has a tendency to roll under when you put your foot in. You might not even notice this at first (the material is that comfortable), but your foot will eventually tell you there is more pressure on top than there should be... it is a weird problem that I have never had with any other pair of shoes in my life. How it happens with such expensive sneakers is beyond me. If these were $100 cheaper they would be five stars. But at this price you have to basically acknowledge that the main benefit that you are getting for that extra money are shoes that have decent aesthetics instead of the garish slop most companies are putting out there.

This is the second pair of "Allrounder's" that I have had. They are the best and the quality is superior. They last a very long time. Worth every penny.

In my experience, the mapping from European to US sizes is highly variable (and therefore frustrating to me the customer). I wear a perfect size 11B. Mephisto mapped this to a Euro41 but these are too short by one size. The tricky part is, different manufactures have different mappings!

Love this style, however left foot a bit longer in the 2nd toe, so I am concerned that they may be uncomfortable but am now wearing them "gently" around carpet area of home, and will determine if I need to go up 1/2 size. Afraid that right shoe will flop around then, and the left shoe will be perfect! Leather is subtle, and yummy. Style great.

I was so hoping to love this shoe as I wanted a sneaker type shoe that I could wear in inclement weather. Not only did this shoe run long and VERY wide, it was also uncomfortable with no padding or support in the insole. I tried replacing the insole with one of my own, but it was just too wide.

I own these shoes in four different colors! They are the perfect shoes to wear when you are going to be walking all day, with no chance to slip into a different pair of shoes. Although they are light in weight, the Niro offers excellent support. The bottom of the shoes are nice and thick, making them perfect for walking on hard city street or uneven paths (though they are not quite sturdy enough to be a true "hiking" shoe). The Velcro design makes them easy to get on & off. I have one bright yellow pair that I have dedicated as "treadmill shoes" I wear them every morning, and they get me going with a spring in my step! My dark brown ones are great for rainy days (I have waterproofed them with Kiwi spray) because they have such great bottom traction, I am not afraid of slipping. These are extremely casual shoes, so I mostly wear them with jeans; they take the place of lace-up sneakers. Because I have a bone spur on the top of my foot, I find mary janes more comfortable than lace-up shoes. If you are looking for an alternative to sneakers, you cannot do better than these!

For a shoe that looks like a sneaker, these are amazingly uncomfortable. low arch support, very little padding. I'm so disappointed. Thank you again, Zappos, for your great return policy.

My daughter walks 1.5 miles to/from work every day. She loves these shoes so much that I got a second pair in a different color.

I took the insole out to put in my orthotic and underneath seems like some sort of cardboard. The insole was very thin and unsupportive. Very poor quality for this price!

I was very pleased with these shoes. I initially ordered my regular size and then after reading the company's recommendation, exchanged them for a half size larger which fit well. I found them better for regular walking than my original plan to use them as a more fashionable hiking shoe in Europe.
