Allen Edmonds made in the USA is an awesome company. The leather is a very nice softer casual finish. Each colored strip is a different piece sown to a thin sandwiched layer of leather between them and the solid leather back piece to complete the belt. The strips and the back piece are of the same thickness. Very high quality workmanship and grade of leather. An over-used word but, this belt is awesome!
