Well built but makes a slight squish sound - Typical of Allen Edmonds, the shoe is well built, comfortable and stylish. The only thing that surprised me is that they make a small "squish" sound when you walk. I soon realized that this was air flowing in and out of the two side vents. This is only a minor annoyance and I will keep the shoes.

Eastport - I have several other pairs of AE dress shoes and ordered my usual size, a 10. I wear a B-width and this shoe was too narrow. I reordered a half size larger and found it was too narrow also.

These boat shoes are excellent - The fit and finish are incredible. The blue is a great contrast with khakis. Always looking to support US made products. Allen Edmond's shoes are worth the money!

Neat for Narrows - While a B is a bit tight for me, the fit is like a glove that will loosen. Top quality manufacturing and unlike other boat shoes, there is a small heel which keeps back pain at bay. Wore them to work today in a down pour and I am toasty dry and warm. Tough to break in barefoot but with time I am sure they will be fine.
Brands I'd also recommend: Ted Baker Driving shoe - narrow last.

The way it's supposed to be - I put on these shoes and was suddenly reminded of what real quality is. I've been wearing various Docksides, Top-Siders,and every knockoff out there since the '80s and it's so easy NOT to notice the slow erosion of quality that we've all been subjected to. Try a pair of these and experience real craftsmanship. Yes, they are pricey when compared to similar-looking shoes. They are worth every penny.
Brands I'd also recommend: Any other Allen-Edmonds style.

Narrower than regular Allen-Edmonds shoes - Just had to return a 12 EEE. I own many pairs of Allen-Edmonds shoes, but this boat shoe model appears to be built on a different last, which is narrower than that for a regular shoe. Too bad, because it was a well-made, good-looking shoe, typical of Allen-Edmonds quality.

Beautiful, Comfortable, Solid Materials & Construction - Expensive for sure but superb quality. Probably 5 times the quality of the boat shoes in the $80 - $100 price range I've owned. Soft leather. The navy looks better in real life than it does in the picture. Comfortable to walk around in all day and equally solid on the boat! Of course, as a bonus these are made in the U.S.A. I'll wear these and enjoy them for years.

Nice deck shoes - Shoe seemed to fit well and be very light and comfortable. Finish/appearance are very nice and of obvious high quality. However, I developed blisters on the back of heel almost immediately. This has happened to me before with other deck shoes.

These shoes fit and feel great. They are made of substantial leather, both externally and the lining. The toe box is comfortably wide but shallow; I feel the leather across the top of my toes and it feels snug and good. I ordered a size 11B, which fits true. They do make that scrunchy fresh waxed leather sound under the laces, but this will wear out, and they feel so good it doesn't bother me. They are lace-through so they tighten up around the heel to suit your fit. The sole provides a form for the uppers so it looks like they'll hold their shape. A great pair of shoes, and very good service from Zappos!

Allen Edmonds Eastport British Tan. I bought some Allen Edmonds dress shoes a year ago, and loved their craftsmanship, looks, and comfort. Being American made, they are well suited to our generally wider feet. I needed a casual shoe to replace my aging Ecco shoes. I naturally looked at what Allen Edmonds had. I owned boat shoes in the past. I remember them as not so comfortable and prone to coming apart. They were Timberland. I was curious how Allen Edmonds would tackle making a boat shoe. These Allen Edmonds shoes have an extra eyelet that I thought might lend comfort over the arch, and it does. The finish is durable. The stitching is tough, and well done. The soles have very good grip on wet surfaces. It has quality leather that you feel when you put them on. The leather laces are oiled...Good move. I read the reviews here before I purchased the shoes. My shoe size is 10E. The reviews say the Eastport runs narrow, so I bought the 10EEE. They fit to a tee. Pulling the ties tight around the heel prevents blisters. I took my shoes out of the box, cinched them to my feet, and walked a mile in them without any discomfort at all. They are certainly distinct looking. I didn't even consider the Mephisto, a shoe costing twice as much, because they didn't have the same quality or the fine looks.
Brands I'd also recommend: Allen Edmonds dress shoes.

I couldn't wear the shoe long enough to determine comfort because it was not as wide as I needed although I ordered 3 EEE.

Just ordered my third pair of these shoes. They're expensive (at least to me), but, in my opinion, worth the premium. The quality and craftsmanship are apparent when you first examine the shoe and also when the shoes are two years old. In my profession I walk a number of miles every day. The cheaper shoes that I've worn looked bad after a year; these still look good after nearly two years of daily use.

A very nice-looking boat shoe. In actuality, the leather looks nicer than in the Zappos zoom pictures. Definitely a cut above standard Top-Siders and Docksides. Unfortunately, I've found that in exchange for the trim lines of this shoe, I've had to give up a little comfort. The collar and tongue aren't as padded as Docksides, the insole isn't as cushy, and they've taken a while to break in enough to be suitable for longer walks. If you want nice-looking, fine leather, and quality stitching and details, go for these. If your primary use is actual knock-around outdoor wear, though, you might be better off with two pair of a cheaper shoe.

The shoe is too narrow; it says 10D, but it fits like a 9 1/2 narrow. I am surprised at Allen Edmonds.

Have several pairs of AE dress shoes. All fit perfectly out of the box. Decided to give this boat shoe a try. My usual D width felt very narrow and tight feeling. Had to return. Will try an E width.

As others have said, these shoes run narrow. I normally wear a D but had to return them immediately because they were too tight. Even the E width I've since received are a little tight on my left foot but I'm sure they'll break in fine. As ususal, superb quality of construction and they look great. If you can afford AE quality, buy them. I own 4 other different styles of AE shoes and they are well worth the extra money. One more thing...Zappos customer service is absolutely incredible. Kudos to them.
