I have several pair of AE and I do believe that these may be my new favorite. They are comfortable out of the box, requiring no break-in, and they are perfect with jeans and chinos. This is an excellent weekender, casual shoe; rugged enough, yet still refined.

First of all, I have wide feet and Allen-Edmonds makes a nice selection of wide shoes. The Black Hills shoe from Allen-Edmonds is stylish and heavy duty instead of just being stylish. They seem to go well with jeans or other casual attire and are really quite comfortable out of the box. They are kind of heavy, but then again sturdiness is a good thing. Not for prissy men.

Rugged very good shoe. I am a police detective and on my feet a lot in many environments. These look like they will stand the test of time.

This is an excellent shoe that will last a long time. Once you have the correct fit it molds to your foot like a glove. Heavy with solid feel that seems like it will last a long time. Keep in mind this AE longest Last so if you have a wide foot it will feel narrow order a wide, and it runs long, almost a half to a full size larger than normal.
