AIGLE Reviews
I had been watching these boots for months and hoping that I would not miss out buying them before they sold out. I finally had enough to make the splurge and order them -- and Aigle are a splurge but worth it; I have a pair of Parcours that I have bean wearing for over five years. The black, size 36 arrived. I took them out of the box. They look really nice and are made very well like Aigle boots are. But they just do not fit. The shaft is too snug for me so I had only ever be able to wear them with skirts and dresses. To me my Aigle boots are all purpose. I can wear them with skirts, dresses, slim jeans, even normal pants folded sideways at the shin and tucked in. The foot was snug too. I think it would have bean OK. My toes did not seem squished but there was no room for thicker socks in winter. Again that is a requirement of my Aigle boots. I wear them all year round. These are really cute and made well. But they just did not fit the full bill for me to keep them.
These are decent boots for keeping your feet dry, but they will not keep your feet warm. The material feels thin, as does the footbed. If you're trudging through snow or a lot of rain, I think you'll want something with a thicker sole and more traction. These only come up a few inches above the ankle (at least on me), so if you need tall boots or want to be able to tuck your pants into the boots, these probably will not work for you.
Perfect. I have been looking for the right rain boots for years and have finally found them! As a true 10.5 I know so well the frustration of shoving my foot into a 10 or swimming in 11's. Thank you Aigle for making a stylish, lightweight, and comfy boot for those of us with that hard to find size. Couldn't be happier with my purchase!
Really cute boots. If I wear thick socks they fit well, but they are a tad larger than what I was expecting. I bought this without reading all of the reviews though (mistake) because I have pretty big calves (I hate them!) and they can fit into the boot but it's extra tight, and I can't fit my jeans into the boot along with my leg (I have to roll up the jeans). But like I said I have larger than normal calves. Would recommend if you have small-to-med size calves.
Love them! Great outdoor shoe that is practical and pretty good looking. Ordered for my husband for working outdoors and he loves them.
This is a great rainboot! It is incredibly light and the shaft of the boot is thin and folds down/rolls up making them very portable. They do not feel clunky on the foot but still retain a sporty feel. I have not put them to the test but on looks alone, they are a winner! The sole is extremely flexible and there is no support but this seems to be the case with all rubber boots, including the Hunter, which is way too clunky.
Just like the previous reviewer, these boots run VERY large...about 1.5 sizes bigger than your normal size. I am an 8M/W in most brands, and a 9M in many boots (e.g. Bogs & Keen). A Euro 38 or 39 is usually what I need, but in this Aigle boot I also went down to a 37. I purchased the 36 as well for comparison and it's definitely too small. The 37 is till roomy yet allows for an insert to provide much-needed heel and arch support. As a part-time dog walker I don't think these will be adequate for any distance walking, but I am excited to pack them for my next travel adventure as they are super pliable, packable and lightweight.
Aigle rainboots have always ruled when it comes to quality & comfort. I've been looking for the "right" red for a long time, and these were it...not too bright, not too dark. Can't wait to wear them this Autumn with skinny jeans or dress & tights. These do run large. I've always worn a size 38 (also in Aigle boots) but had to send these back for a 37. Zappos service was fast & efficient.
These are great rain boots, as long as it isn't too cold out. These don't come with liners (that I know of), and my feet were very cold in a cold rain. They have a wider leg width which is perfect for my not so perfect legs. They were also very easy to take off, which has been an issue with other rubber rain boots.
Sleek-fitting rain boot that looks like leather! These boots look fabulous on and are also comfortable to wear. The boot material is slightly stiff but not inflexible. I wear a women's size 8.5-9 and the size 39 fit was spot on. I am not skinny but my calves and ankles are and the Start M boots fit perfect around my 13" calves. I can also wear these boots with skinny jeans, no problem. If you have small calves and want a close fitting boot, Start M will be perfect; if you have normal-sized calves, you will be more comfortable with the Start L or larger. Before purchasing the size M, I tried both Aigle Start boot sizes L and XL. The Aigle Start L was only slightly larger in the calf area, but much larger in the ankle. The Start XL was noticeably larger in the calf and ankle area. You should know that all of the Aigle Start boots slide right on, but take some tugging to get off because of the narrow shaft and slightly padded lining.
I am typically a true 8; I wear 38 in pumps (7.5-8) and 39 (8-8.5) in looser fitting shoes like Dansko clogs. I ordered 38 in these, but I should have gotten 39 (I'll be exchanging them), as they were a little too short for me, even without socks (felt more like a women's 7-7.5). The width is more than generous. I am very impressed with the quality and weight of the boots, particularly the soles -- they are sturdy enough to hold up to miles of walking in any condition (better quality rubber than Hunter) with a substantial tread and good support. The "bronze" color is a great neutral (essentially a matte British racing green with brown trim and black soles) that can be worn with all black, brown, navy, or jeans. The shaft is mild-calf height -- tall enough to keep the rain and mud out, but flattering (no storm trooper/tight calf effect).
Skinny calf alert on these beautiful rain boots! At 115 lbs, I don't often have an issue with calf width, but these boots have to be made for people with chicken legs. The pattern and colors on these matte boots is nothing short of beautiful. You can really get the color and print of fun rainboots without looking like you are wearing a costume. I normally always wear a 7.5 in US sizes for all shoes. If you wear a half size, I would suggest sizing down to the next whole size for these boots. I had more than enough room in the base of the shoe, but my foot did feel a little tingly in the boots after walking around the house in them because the calf was so tight, it felt like it was cutting off circulation to my foot. As soon as I saw the boots, I gasped because they were so beautiful, but was utterly disappointed by the fit - very large in the shoe and very small on the calf.
These boots are great, and I love that they're natural rubber - but the calf is so narrow! I don't have skinny legs, but I do have average calf size. I've never had a problem with pants, boots, etc...this was the first boot I've ever received where I could barely squeeze my legs in. The rest is wonderful, but I could never get a pair of pants tucked into these.
The foot of the boot fits perfectly, but the top of the calf is very tight. I have never had an issue with a tall boot being too tight in the calf as I have relatively small calves. The boot is adorable; however, the fit is not right.
I would have gladly kept the boots but the 15 inch circumference was too limited for my current arthritis/endema problem. A 16 or 16.5 inch circumference might have been OK. Sorry FHR.
These boots are wonderful. They pack easily in a suitcase as the tops are soft and fold to the size of regular shoes. Completely waterproof, they are light, comfortable as slippers and very attractive. They do run large and I had to get a full size smaller than my usual size. I wear a 7 1/2 or a European 38. These boots were still plenty big in a 37, but comfortable with medium thickness socks. Zappos customer service was outstanding.
This is a great shoe and brand! The fit and look is exactly what I was expecting and more! The "slush" technology is amazing...the shoe looks like leather but is in fact rubber. Amazing craftsmanship! I will likely buy more of Aigle shoes in the future!
I love these! This is my first pair of rain boots, and I was looking for a classy classic look. They are great for wearing with skinny jeans or yoga pants tucked in. Opening at top is not too tight or too big. Order base on the US sizing, as the corresponding European size chart on Zappos was not accurate. I ordered based on US and got the right size.
These are great! I was looking for some non-plastic muck boots and these are all natural rubber. They are snug around the calf - more than I expected since my calves are average - so fitting heavy jeans can be a bit of a challenge, but I finally figured it out. Nothing comes in over the top, like water or hay. They are very comfortable and I do not mind wearing them to town either. I always wear my own arch supports so I cannot comment on the arch. I will definitely get these again.
I hard to order one size up in these boots in order to use my orthotic with them. I think they will be good for gardening and also for spring walks when it's still pretty muddy. The rubber is soft and it does not smell like a synthetic. I hope they'll be worth the money.
