A couple things about these boots. Only the upper is natural rubber. The bottom is synthetic. Even though the company (Aigle) boasts their boots are "handcrafted," these are not. In fact, they have many cheaper quality Aigle boots, like these ones. Do not pay more for these. Also, I would never wear these in the snow - there is little to no traction, and they would likely crack. Get snow boots! These are rain boots.

Absolutely love these. Thank goodness I read all reviews on these and alternative boots. Other purchasers clearly had same issues as I do - comfort for walking, width of calf, support around ankle. Well worth the extra money...don't hesitate - just buy them!

Very satisfied with these boots. They do have a lot of room at the ankle which may not appeal to everyone but makes them easy to get on and off.

After researching a lot of boots for farming I ordered both Aigle Aiglentine & LeChameau Country LD. I'm keeping the Aiglentine. Rubber: The rubber on the Aigle is softer & stretchy, which is more comfortable on my feet. They do flop a bit on my calves when I walk, but not to an annoying extent. It's not thin, these are just the qualities of natural rubber, and I actually appreciate that they seem like a natural product and not plastic. The LeChameau rubber is likely a bit tougher if you hit barbed wire, but it's stiff enough that when I crouch down it digs into my ankles. Lining: The Aigle lining is a thick smooth wetsuit-type material which seems sturdy and makes them very easy to pull on/off. I think it will be fine if it gets wet. The LeChameau lining is a thin woven cotton/poly that was already beginning to pill just from trying them on, and created friction when pulling on/off...I can't imagine will hold up with use. Tread: The lug tread on the LeChameau is a bit heftier than the Aigle, but the tread material on the Aigle feels sturdier and seems like it will wear more slowly. Fit: The calf-cinch on the Aigle is helpfully adjustable while the LeChameau is just decorative and not functional. Manufacture: Finally, the Aigle are proudly stamped "made in France" while the hangtag on the LeChameau says "made in Morocco." Size: Size-wise the Aigle size 40 seems the equivalent of LeChameau 41. The Aigle is very slightly narrow but the rubber is so stretchy that it's perfectly comfortable, and I don't think the stretch is putting any strain on the construction. If you want to add arch supports or go wider, I'd order a size up on the Aigle.

These boots look and feel great. I'm upset that I have to return them because they are really big on me. I wear a 4.5 in Naturalizer and ordered the 35 (US 4.5 to 5) and these boots just fall of off me. The quality and feel of the rubber is great! There is one thing that bothered me, the company uses plastic tag that goes through the boot and puts a hole in the boot, to affix the price tag. If I pay this much for a pair of shoes, I wouldn't want any holes, no matter the size or location of the hole. The hole is tiny and towards the top of one boot. Maybe I'm just being too picky, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I ordered several pairs of rubber rain boots from Zappos to compare (I love Zappos' easy return policy). None of the other boots came close to these. So many were cheap feeling overall, thin rubber with no support, cushion or grip on the sole. Of course these are among the more expensive rain boots, but after trying the cheaper ones, these were the best without question. I'm short, 5'2", and the height on these are perfect. I tried the taller version of this boot and it did not work for me.

Just got this boot and those french know how to make a good item. Beautiful and comfortable. It is a rain boot so don't expect support but plenty of room to add you own insert. The fit is roomy and I have puffy feet and a large calf so I'm happy with the fit. It's a keeper for me.

I bought a pair to deal with the miserable Boston snow in 2015 and absolutely loved the boots. I love the style, the fit is incredible, and they are both amazingly warm, waterproof, and great on ice. However after about a month, one of the eyelets broke off the left boot, so I could no longer lace the boots all the way up (which is useful in the 6 feet of snow we've been dealing with). Zappos customer service was fantastic, and sent me a out a new pair. I wore the new pair less than a week and the same thing happened! An eyelet broke off the left boot! I did not do anything out of the ordinary to cause this to happen--just walked normally, boots fully laced. It seems as though the metal for the eyelets isn't the same quality as the rest of the boot. It is truly unfortunate because everything else about the boots are amazing.

I normally wear a euro 43, but had to return these to get a 42, and there's still a little slipping, but a 41 would probably be too tight. I also thought, for the price, these would have more cushioning, like a proper shoe. But on the whole, these have protected my feet and kept me them warm walking through the snow and massive slush ponds that is NYC in February. I don't know yet, but these appear very well made so I'm optimistic they will last for years.

I've looked around for a good quality, comfortable, and stylish multi-purpose boot for a long time, and finally found exactly what I wanted. I usually wear an 8.5/39, but ordered a 38, which fits me well, with room for heavier socks. These boots are hand crafted in France and are more expensive than some of the other brands, but well worth it for the great quality. I ordered the boots on Monday p.m. and received them on Wednesday---really satisfied with Zappos customer service!

I bought the fur version that keep my feet warm during winter, they are well made and so comfortable to walk around. My size is 7.5 and 37 fits me perfectly. I'm using those as my snow boots, very stylish and practical.

Just got them yesterday and have only tried them on. They are light and feel warm and sturdy. I wear a 12 and I bought a 29 (11 or 11.5 equivalent). Fit is perfect. (I like my boots snug) I was disappointed to see the label say they were made in China. There was no instruction on caring for the leather. Price is extreme. For the price, I am expecting a very exceptional, handmade type product and I hope they just aren't grossed up Chinese boots. They better great and they better last!

I love these boots. My other similar type of boots always split or discolor. The quality of this boot is great and I plan to have them for years! Perfect rain boots.

I love these boots! They are stylish and practical. I was hesitant to buy them because they are so pricey, but after reading reviews for similar boots in different brands I thought this was the safer bet. I'm not sorry I chose these! So far I've worn them while doing some muddy gardening and shopping in the rain. I can easily fit a fleece sock in them so I plan to wear them in the snow too. I wear a 7 1/2 and got the 38 and I think they fit perfectly.

Fit perfectly. I think they look better than the Hunters and the LeChameau, which I returned for these.

I love this boot and would really like to keep it, but I'm need a half size larger and it has been out of stock for 6 months. The purple is a great color and the soles were more cushiony than the Hunter boots I ordered with these. I'm very sad I'll be returning them.

Love these! They have very comfortable, cushioned soles. They are narrow, and for me, the width is snug but not uncomfortable. I like the lower height - it makes them easier to walk in that higher rain boots.

I LOVE these boots! I am a birder and am constantly tromping through marshes, fields and wet woods--especially this year. We've had the wettest spring and summer I can remember. I suffered through 2 years wearing some insulated boots I got at a hunting supplier. The women's boots only came mid-calf (Why?), they were very heavy, only came in camo, and started cracking after only a year of limited use. I decided to look further. The Aigles caught my eye immediately for their full-shaft length, trim lines and large assortment of beautiful colors. My legs are trim from running, and I hate boots that fit too wide and floppy around my calves. When the boots arrived, I could not believe how perfect they were. I wear a Euro 37 and my feet slipped in like a whisper. I can wear them with or without socks and they remain secure and comfortable at all times. They fit close to my calves for the look I prefer, but they still fit over straight-cut jeans. They are unbelievably soft and supple, but have shown no signs of wear or cracking--even though I have worn them almost daily under rugged conditions for almost 7 months. I bought the purple and have received many compliments. Yes, they're expensive, but sometimes you really do get what you pay for!

I really like the color and the fact that the shaft is very narrow since I have very skinny legs. Other boots are always way too big in the calf area. Definitely not meant for those with normal to large size legs and calfs.

Love the color! Really cool, substantial , nice height, quality. I bought a 6 but they feel like a roomy 7 which I guess is to be expected with rain boots. These are cool but I think Hunter still have to edge when it comes to style.

Fantastic boots that you can wear all day. The rubber is of a much higher quality than the Hunter Balmorals and I can't recommend these enough.
