I purchased the Keen Venice H2, the Clarks Wave Swivel, and the Ahnu Tilden IV water sandals all in size 7 (I am usually a 6.5-7), which have a similar covered-toe style. My purpose was for a summer of river rafting (waterproof and good traction) as well as amusement parks (for all-day walking comfort and protection from being stepped on). In each case, the size was perfect, and they all offered great traction, support, and comfortable straps. I thought the Keen was the cutest of the three, but unfortunately it made my big toes feel smooshed. The Clarks were just as cute but they also smashed my big toes. These shoes were returned. Thanks, Zappos! The winner is the Ahnu! All the straps make it look busier and less streamlined than the Keens, so I like the look the least (but others tell me they are cute). But they are the only sandal which meet my needs and have a roomy enough toe box. I have found a new favorite brand!

I love these shoes, they were exactly what I was looking for in a water shoe. I have diabetic feet and really need to protect them and avoid any foot complications you can think of: bunions, arthritis, metatarsal myalgia, slow healing wounds and bruising, etc. As well I most definitely need protection from the random rocks, sticks and invisible creek and river debris. These shoes fit the bill as I don t want to give up my active lifestyle and love creek hiking, and water and river play, so I was on a mission to find a water/sport shoe that would protect my feet and be comfortable and cute and my Teva Hurricanes, which I love, just won't protect me the way I need them to at this point. I tried the Teva Omnium, and the Keen Owyhee also to compare. The Teva Omnium was extremely disappointing I would not waste any time on it, you can read the reviews on Amazon to find out why. The Keen Owyhees were great, and cute, but just not for me. My second to last two toes kept popping out the sides, and my big toe bumped and got caught on the top toe protector in an undesirable way. Also on the Keens, the texture on the bed of the shoe was too irritating to my skin, and they were simply not cushiony enough for my tender feet and they were much heavier. The Anhus were extremely comfortable in comparison right out of the box, this company has put a lot of intelligence behind their shoes, and it shows. The shoe is so comfortable, I can wiggle my toes and there is a fair amount of width, and the adjustment is great. Despite what other reviewers say, the straps are not just busy, they are highly functional, as you can adjust the tightness of how the shoe stays on across the top of your foot virtually giving you a custom fit. And the heel strap comes in behind to really keep it snug, something you need if you are water hiking or playing in the water. As for the looks well that s always going to be subjective, but if you are looking for water sport hiker type shoes, this is what you get, and I think they are very stylish. Their profile is slimmer and more elegant than the keens, which I think will work out well for just running errands around town. These will definitely be my go to shoes not just for water sports, but also for walking the dogs and going on bike rides and walks around the trails. I am very happy with these and highly recommend them if you live an active lifestyle and need comfort, versatility and protection in a summer shoe.

Love this purple color. This is my first Ahnu. It's sportier than I had wanted but the color makes it a bit less so. It's very adjustable with the way the straps are designed. It's quite light and seems to breathe well despite being so encased. It seems to run on the wider side but I was able to adjust the straps nicely across the fabric of the shoe and behind my heels to make a good, fit. I felt like my pronation issues were supported, even coddled. Oh, did the say that the footbed is very cushy? Am looking forward to city walks in Europe with these! They should take good care of my feet on those cobbled and brick sidewalks.

I'd also recommend: Try Jambu, Moto, Reiker, Seibel, Ecco, Wolky. Euro brands can be odd in sizing tho.

The shoe was not as cute on as I hoped it would be. Too many straps. Also, the instep strap appears adjustable but doesn't really allow you to adjust it. The shoe seems stiff, high, more rigid than other brands. If your feet have less problems than mine and you prefer a more rigid, firm shoe, this might work. Also, my big toes were pushing against the side/top of shoe, but no way could I wear a larger size. Not unattractive. Color is true to picture. But for me, I felt it would leave blisters and sore places on my feet. Ahnu is good brand, though. Oh well. Keeping the Keens instead.

I'd also recommend: Keen Turia, Keen Venice H2, Kamik Jetty, Keen Newport

I love this shoe! Very comfortable. I usually wear a wide and this shoe was great. The back is adjustable and not that hard to slip on like some that you have to squeeze your foot into.
