I'm a big fan of Adidas' running shorts, perhaps even moreso than Nike's ever popular Tempo short due to the perfect length. The Marathon shorts by Adidas do not ride up or bunch, and I never have to worry about tugging down the legs while running. The sizing is a little weird. I wear a size 6-8 in skirts and pants and I own these shorts in both medium and large, and to be honest, I don't really notice a difference.
Brands I'd also recommend: Nike

These are my favorite shorts and I have them in several colors. Cute, fast-drying, and just a little more coverage than Nike "triangle" shorts. I hope they keep making them in more colors!

I first bought the Marathon short along with some Under Armour running shorts at a local sporting goods store. I liked these so much that I went back to buy more, but they were sold out. Luckily I found them on Zappos and was able to stock up. I'm between a size 8 and 10 and the medium fits me perfectly. These shorts don't ride up like the Under Armour shorts do and these are a little bit longer, which I like. Plus I can wear a medium in these but I have to wear a large in the others. That's a nice ego boost. :)
