My son really wanted a pair of these, but they aren't very practical. Although he is a very coordinated and athletic 11-year-old, he is constantly slipping out of them and the surprisingly slick fabric does nothing to help as it is impossible to grip. The only positive is that he says they're comfy. Nevetherless, don't plan on walking any distance to speak of. Even running errands with him in these is a pain.
