My daughter wanted shoes "just like Mommy" but her feet are too small. These shoes fit the bill - had the cool base, plus they are lace-ups and they are pink! She looks good in them and the laces are soft enough (and long enough - but not too long) that she can tie them herself.
Brands I'd also recommend: Nike, New Balance, Saucony

My 8 year old daughter just got these and now won't wear any other shoes! Originally we bought them for her to run her first 5K, which was very successful, now they are everyday shoes. They seem to be holding up well so far. The important thing is that she loves them!
