First ordered my size (8.5) in wide. Way too small! But Zappos made the switch to a whole size larger very easy. Very comfortable! Slightly orthopedic looking, but only if you look hard. Wore them on a trip to NYC with lots of walking, and was very glad to have them. Kudos!

These shoes were just as advertised. They fit correctly with plenty of room in the toe. There wasn't much arch support which I need and there isn't very much cushioning, but it did allow room for my orthotic and that solved the problem. It is nice to find a nice looking shoe which allows for an insert.

These shoes look like your basic classic mary jane, and that's a good thing. The other positive is that this shoe adds about 1" to my height. The sizing runs small, however. I am a true 8.5 and my toes were crammed all the way to end of the shoe in that size. The sides of the B-width shoe were narrow and pinched, and I don't even have wide feet. Additionally, the shoes were shallow and my feet felt like they were going to pop out the top. With different sizing this shoe might work out okay.

I have not broken in these shoes yet. I think they will be comfortable. Some of the reviews said this shoe ran large, so I bought a smaller size, but then had to send back for a larger size.

The most comfortable shoe I have ever worn!!! I was having a lot of foot and back discomfort and as soon as I started wearing these shoes the pain went away.

5 stars - It's really hard to find shoes wide enough for my feet. This shoe comes very close, and its soft leather is flexible enough to make up the difference. At the same time, I can wear it for semi-dressy occasions - it has a pretty design.

Love this shoe - I love this shoe. It is very comfortable, except for a seam at the heel that caused a blister. I used moleskin over it and the problem was solved. I had to send back the first pair, as they were too big. Ordered half size smaller, and narrower shoe and it was perfect.

This is the first non-tennis shoe my 24 year old daughter has been able to wear over her braces. She loves them. It's hard to rate comfort etc because she can't feel them, but she was so excited when they slipped on over the brace. She wore a dress with tights for the first time in years. To anyone who wears mafos, try these.

I was able to work on my feet all day from the first day I used the shoe. I did need to add an orthotic for some cushioning.

These hikers are some of the best I've owned. I put them on out of the box and went for a quick four mile hike off trail. No real break-in required, although I know they will 'loosen up' quickly as all Columbias do. I walk a minimum of four miles daily, most off trail, in northern Minnesota woods country. Columbia has some of the best boots I've found that provide light weight, consistent fit, durability and cold weather insulation (which I require). This is one of them. I also have owned very good boots from North Face, Timberland and Oakley, all with good qualities, but none of those have been as consistent in providing my requirements as Columbia. A note on Columbia hiker sizing: In my experience it is consistently accurate. They do not run large or wide. They run accurate. If you wear your boots with any kind of extra insole pad or heavy duty socks (or both), as I do for very cold and rough country hiking, I would recommend going up one size over your normal shoe size.
